SOLAR ECLIPS OF 21ST CENTURY

SOLAR ECLIPS OF 21ST CENTURY
A total solar eclips on Wednesday 22nd July 2009. Hundred of millions of people watched the skies darken, though in some places thick summer clouds blocked the sun. The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century cut through the world’s most populous nations, India and china, as it traveled half the globe. It was visible along a roughly 25 km wide corridor, U.S spce agency NASA said
In India, where eclipse superstitions are rife, people snaked through the narrow lanes of varanasi and gathered for a dip in the Ganga, an act believed to bring release from the cycle of life and death. The eclipse next swept through Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar and over the crowded cities along china’s Yangtze River, before heading to the pacific.
In Hindu majority Nepal, the government declared a public holiday and thousands headed for water. Rain in some places blocked the view of the sun entirely. It lasted up to a maximum of 6 minutes, 39 seconds over the Pacific Ocean, according to NASA.
Hundreds of people witness solar eclips in kollam. Witness solar eclips in kOllam. Witnessed large groups of people engaged in sun gazing in kollam asramam maiden. NINE ELEPHANT KILLED

NINE
ELEPHANT KILLED
A 35 year-old tusker was killed when the Bangalore- Ernakulam express train hit it on “A’ track in the kanjikode- walayar forest area early morning of Friday, 17th July 2009. This is the second such incident in the past 24 hours. A she elephant was killed in the early hours of Thursday 16th July 2009.
The Forest Minister wrote to Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday 18th July 2009 seeking their intervention to end the recurring deaths of elephants in accidents along the railway track between Coimbator and Palakkad. A month ago that a cow elephant and its baby were killed on the same stretch. The forest minister said that nine elephants had been killed by train run-over in that track over the past three years. The kerala forests wild life department had on various occasions brought this matter to the notice of the Railway authorities and sought preventive measures to pre-empt these untoward incidents. How ever they turned a deaf ear to the requests. Protection of wild life being a fundamental duty of every citizen of this country
The following instruction should be issued immediately to the railway authorities to save the lives of elephants and other wild animals. The speed of all trains plying in the Coimbatore- Palakkad route should be reduced to less than 50 km ph between kanjikodu and walayar stations. Since most of the accidents occur during the night hours and in’ B’ line, the movement of trains from 11 p.m to 5 am may be restricted to ‘A’ line alone.
The track between Kanjikode and Walayar has lots of embankments as the rails are laid in tunnels dug along rocks most of the accidents occurred when the elephants and deer enter these tunnels and are not in a position to escape because of the steep embankments. These embankments have to be removed. Engine drivers should sound horn while passing through the entire route between kanjikode and walayar to alert the animals

GO SLOW- WILD ANIMALS CROSING

GO SLOW
WILD ANIMALS CROSING
Ooty in Tamil Nadu, both proved deadly for the park’s wild life.. It is estimated ht the road kills on highways far exceed the official statistics for poaching in the area. The wild life in Bandipur is endangered by highway traffic. Surprisingly, it is not just the heviest but light moor vehicles too that have left an elephant calf, a tiger, a panther and a number of sloth bear, spotted and sambhar deer, mongoose, langur, jungle cat, and other endangered and protected species dead.
The 950 sq km park is a tiger reserve under project Tiger and also a refuge for elephant. Many such deaths go undocumented because animals hit by vehicles while crossing the road die later, after they have moved n to the jungle, the tribal have feasted on the carcass.
Last month ( July 2009)the park authorities banned night traffic on the highway stretches through the park. But the ban had to be lifted within 24 hours owing to pressure from commercial lobbies from across the border. Wild life is certainly affected by night traffic. This is an interstate highway. NH 212 takes 17.5 km through the park Wayanad in keralaHhHASDFAhhhFASDFK1283712OU. The Tamil Nadu people did not object to the ban, but kerala argued that the highway is essential for lifeline bringing essential commodities. Anyway the authorities insists the highway should be closed for 8 hours in the night. The highways are open for nearly 16 hours to transfer essentials.
About 3 accidents happen every month. District officials reveal that among the so called commercial interests that lobbied to get the ban lifted where sand and rice lobbies, besides those transporting cattle and vegetables between Karnataka and kerala. This smugglers, lobbies have pressured the government to get the ban lifted.
Birds like spotted dove, babblers and howl get killed because they find green and grass seeds along the highway. Howls get hit when they swoop on insects sighted in the headlight beams. During late evenings, deer cross highways in hordes. A random survey by WCF of road kills between 2004 and 2008 counted 91 mammals, 74 birds and 56 reptiles. The situation in Bendipur is alarming.

The Lankan president said’ It is heartening that difference among various sections of people based on race will not have any place in his vision for a post- conflict Sri Lanka. This is in conformity with the island nation’s friendly relations with India. President Rajapaksa’s interview gives a lot of hope to Sri Lankan Tamils in Sri Lanka has been discriminated against for decades.
The Sri Lankan government should not waste time rehabilitating and guaranteeing equal rights and involving the Tamils in nation building
Mr Rajapaksa said that Sri Lankan Army doing the best work, we have resettled Tamil people. We have to send them to the villages. But the problem is that provide security for them. Now I am recruiting Tamils to the army and the police. I was always for that My theory is, there are no minorities in Sri Lanka, there are only those who love the country and those who don’t.
The Sri Lankan government issued a directive that with effect from July 1 we will not recruit people to the public service unless they know Tamil and vice versa, that is Tamils must know Sinhala, Sinhalese must know Tamil.
The India government will give Rs 500 corer for the rehabilitation if internally displaced Tamils of Sri Lanka and for the reconstruction of the northern and eastern areas in the island nation. THE DEMOLITION OF THE BABRIMASJID

THE DEMOLITION OF THE
BABRIMASJID
The Lberhan Commission has performed a daunting task. It has taken more than 16 years for the commission to submit its report. The demolition of the Bari Masjid was a criminal offence, committed openly
The submission of the liberhan Commission report is a step forward in the fight against communalism. The main task before the government is to punish those found guilty. We have to wait and see how many have been held responsible for the demolition of the Babrimasjid. That the mosque was demolished in broad day light with the whole world watching is well known.
In any civilized society, the deliberate vandalism wrought upon a centuries old monument like the Babri Masjid and its destruction would have merited exemplary punishment for all those involved in the frenzied attack and in the conspiracy that preceded it..
We hopes this report will not meet the same fate as the report of the P. JayanMohan Reddy Commission of inquiry which probed the 1969 Ahmedabad riots, and the Justice sri Krishna report which went in to the 1992 Mumbai riots.

DILUTE THE EDUCATION SYSTEM WILL LEAD TO POOR EDUCATION STANDARDS

DILUTE THE EXAMINATION SYSTEM WILL LEAD TO POOR EDUCATION STANDARDS
The UPA government’s proposal to make the class 10 public examination optional is meant to reduce the stress on students. But it leads to more stress two years later? Stress at 15 is not higher than it is at 17. A little competition is necessary to enable a person to succeed. Competition will always exist among human beings. Stress is a fundamental facet of survival and abandoning a public examination is no easy way to reduce it. Students should be trained to deal with stress
We need to have a full fledged qualifying examination it some level to evaluate knowledge and understanding of students so that their performance can be rated on some scale. This helps students choose their career. The class 10 examination should be viewed as a qualifying examination, not competitive one. Education is a vital part of society changes cannot be introduced in a hurry. Any attempt to dilute the examination system will lead t poor education standards

CLEAN ENVIORNMENT

CLEAN ENVIRONMENT
Each individual is responsible for keeping their environment neat and clean. People keep their surroundings neat and clean by dumping their waste in to others spaces as well as on the roads the public uses. This is very wrong thing to do.
Dumping waste on the road makes it worse. The waste gets accumulated in the gutters and spoils the sanitation system. We must work to keep our environment clean. Nature is our mainstay. There fore, each individual should step forward to take action to preserve their environment. Many people tog4ether make up a country. One person alone cannot make the world better place. We have work together to make nature clean. A good example is our cricket team. The captain alone cannot make the team win. All 11 players should their hands together to succeed.
