CYBER CRIMES

The centre for Development of Advanced computing ( C-DAC) is setting up a modern Digital Forensics Training and Analysis centre at Thiruvananthapuram for the state police.
The facility will provide forensic expertise and training to police officers investigating cyber crimes. It will train judges and prosecutors in digital forensics for effective administration of justice in cyber crime cases.
The centre will be repository of modern cyber forensic tools used for analyzing digital devices including the latest black Berry and personal Digital Assistant (PDA) phones, involved in crime cases. The new facility will be housed at” Bank House” the state owned colonial type bungalow adjacent to the state police Head quarters at vazhuthacaud. The union ministry of communications and information Technology has granted Rs 1.68 crore for the project. The centre will have two training rooms equipped with video projectors and over 40 computers.
