JUSTICE LIBERHAN COMMISSION SUBMITS REPORT OF THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS TO THE BABRI MASJID DEMOLITION IN AYODHYA
The Justice Liberhan Commission, which probed the sequence of events that led to the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya on December 6th, 1992, submitted the report to Prime Minister Manmohan singh on Tuesday 30th June 2009
The Liberhan Commission take 16 year and saw 399 sittings and 48 extensions. About Rs 8 crore was spend on the commission including on salary to the staff.
Mr. Justice Liberhan told “ I can’t say any thing on the report. I have given the report. I can’t comment on it. I have done my duty. It is for the government to decide when to table. The report in parliament. I feel a relieved man. My burden is off. I am happy and my family is happy and I am now a free human being.
The Commission had examined 100 witness, including the leader of the opposition in the Lok sabha L.K Advani, the former Prime Minister P.V Narasimha Rao and V.P Singh and the former West Bengal chief Minister Jyoti Basu
