EXPO OF ANIMALS AND BIRDS.
Prof. John Kurakar and family visited Kollam
Expo of animals and birds on 11th November,2017.After a gap of 25
years, the Department of Animal Husbandry is organising an exhibition of
various breeds of animals and birds.The three-day exhibition will be
inaugurated at the Ashramam grounds by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on
November 10. On display will be different breeds of cattle both domestic and
foreign, goats, ducks, fowl, rabbits, mice and elephants. Also on display will
be those breeds that are on the verge of extinction.
The exhibition will feature close to 100
breeds of dogs, doves, parrots, finches and ornamental fishes in about 350
stalls.Business meets involving entrepreneurs, seminars for farmers, animal
husbandry equipment will form part of the exhibition. A bamboo symphony
programme will be held on November 10 and a programme to get to know the
elephant will be organised at 10 a.m. on November 11. At 3 p.m. there will be a
pet show and performance by the police dog squad. On November 12 there will be
a session on getting to know snakes by Vava Suresh. Ministers T.M. Thomas Isaac
and V.S. Sunil Kumar will take part in the valedictory on November 13.
