MAY PEACE PREVAIL BETWEEN
INDIA AND PAKISTAN
“Peace is not unity in similarity but unity in diversity, in the
comparison and conciliation of differences.”
We are living in a
society, where violence and terrorism have become the order of the day. Weapons
of mass destruction stockpiled by many countries place a real threat to the
survival of humanity.Civil society initiatives to challenge threats of war and violence
need to be emphasized. Building and strengthening of civil societies to work
for peace and justice is an important activity that peace lovers should take
up. We have to find out ways and means by which civil society interventions can
be carried out in different contexts and issues including war and terrorism.
Education is an important tool for promoting peace and non-violence.
Now there
is a grave tension going on between Pakistan and India due to the Uri attack
and Kashmir problems. Best way way to resolve the problems through peaceful
means and dialogue and not through WAR. Everybody knows that both India and
Pakistan have abundant nuclear weapons which can result in the killing of
millions of people. We the members of the United Religions Initiative
(U.R.I),the fast growing International Interfaith organization must joining the
prayers for peace to prevail in India
and Pakistan. The Peace keepers and peace builders joining in prayer and healing
for all our sisters and brothers in Pakistan, India, and around the world in
these very difficult times. May we continue to build peace, harmony and
understanding in our global community. Our members are building peace, stopping
violence, saving lives, healing their own communities. May Peace prevail on
Earth.
