IN RIVER IN KOZHIKODE

Five
youths have gone missing in a river at Pasukkadavu ,Kozhicodu in an unexpected
flood following landslide. The youths went missing in Thrikkandur river at
around 4 pm Sunday on 18th September,2016. The mishap took place at
a place near Mavatta forest zone. It is learned that the youths, who were sitting
on the banks of a canal near Poozhithodu hydel power project, were washed away
as water level in the river rose suddenly following heavy rain and landslide in
the forest. According to local residents, the youths are from Kothoor near
Kuttiyadi. There were nine students in the group and four of them were rescued.
Search operations, led by police and fire force, for others were on.

മലവെള്ളപ്പാച്ചിലില്‍ 5 വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളെ കാണാതായി. പൂക്കന്‍തോട് കടവിലാണ് സംഭവം. കുളക്കാനിറങ്ങിയ ഒമ്പതു വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളില്‍ 5 പേരാണ് അപകടത്തില്‍ പെട്ടത്. മൂന്നു പേര്‍ നീന്തി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. വൈകീട്ട് നാലോടെയാണ് അപകടം.
വനമേഖലയില്‍ കനത്ത മഴയും ഉരുള്‍പൊട്ടലും മൂലം പുഴയിലേക്ക് പെട്ടെന്ന് വെള്ളം ക്രമാതീതമായി വന്നതാണ് അപകടകാരണം. കാണാതായ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ക്കായി നാട്ടുകാരും ഫയര്‍ഫോഴ്‌സും തെരച്ചില്‍ തുടരുകയാണ്.
