In a dramatic turnaround in Arunachal Pradesh, the Congress party on Sunday replaced Chief Minister Nabam Tuki by choosing a new leader Pema Khandu, who staked claim to power on the basis of support of 45 party MLAs along with two Independents.In fast-changing developments, Khaliko Pul, rebel-turned chief minister, who was unseated by the Supreme Court, returned to the party fold with 30 dissident MLAs.
Hours ahead of a scheduled floor test in the Assembly, which Tuki was directed by Governor Tathagat Roy to take, the Congress Legislature Party met and elected 37-year-old Pema Khandu, son of late chief minister Dorjee Khandu, as its new leader.
Tuki proposed the name of Khandu, which was unanimously accepted by 44 MLAs who were present. Speaker Nabam Rebia did not attend the meeting while ousted chief minister Khaliko Pul attended the meeting with the rebel MLAs.In the 60-member House with an effective strength of 58, Congress now claims the support of 47 MLAs, including two independents.Ahead of the CLP meeting, Tuki met the Governor and told him of his intention to resign as CLP chief and as chief minister and of the Congress party's decision to elect a new leader.
Today's developments have come as a major boost for the Congress in the state which was rocked by dissidence since November last year, which led to the toppling of its government and ushering in of a new one headed by Pul with the backing of rebels and outside support of 11 BJP MLAs.

ഇറ്റാനഗർ: അരുണാചലിലെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രതിസന്ധിക്ക് പരിഹാരമായി. കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാവ് പെമ ഖണ്ഡു പുതിയ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായി അധികാരമേൽക്കും. 44 എം.എൽ.എമാർ പെമ ഖണ്ഡുവിന് പിന്തുണ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച് ഗവർണറെ സന്ദർശിച്ചതോടെയാണ് കോൺഗ്രസിന് ഭരണം നിലനിർത്താൻ അവസരമൊരുങ്ങിയത്. ഇതോടെ ഇന്ന് നടത്താൻ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന വിശ്വാസ വോട്ടെടുപ്പ് ഉണ്ടാകില്ല.

അരുണാചല്‍ പ്രദേശില്‍ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഇന്ന് നിയമസഭയിൽ വിശ്വാസ വോട്ട് തേടാനിരിക്കെയായിരുന്നു കോൺഗ്രസിന്‍റെ നാടകീയ നീക്കങ്ങൾ. ഇന്ന് രാവിലെ നിയമസഭാകക്ഷി നേതാവ് സ്ഥാനത്ത് നിന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി നബാം തുക്കി രാജിവെക്കുകയും  പകരം പെമ ഖണ്ഡുവിനെ നിയമസഭാകക്ഷി നേതാവായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. വിമത എം.എൽ.എമാരുടെ പിന്തുണ ഉറപ്പാക്കാനാണ് യുവാവായ പെമ ഖണ്ഡുവിനെ നേതൃസ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവന്നത്‍.മുൻമുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ മകനായ 36 കാരന്‍റെ പിന്നിൽ വിമത എം.എൽ.എമാർ അണിനിരക്കുമെന്നാണ് കോൺഗ്രസിന്‍റെ കണക്കുകൂട്ടൽപിഴച്ചില്ല. വിശ്വാസ വോട്ടെടുപ്പിന് 10 ദിവസത്തെ സാവകാശം വേണമെന്ന തുക്കിയുടെ ആവശ്യം ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ തള്ളിയതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിന്‍റെ അപ്രതീക്ഷിത നീക്കം. നബാം തുക്കിയെ അംഗീകരിക്കാത്ത 30 കോൺഗ്രസ് എം.എൽ.എമാർ മുന്‍ ധനമന്ത്രി കലികോ പുളിന്‍റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ അരുണാചല്‍ പ്രദേശ് പ്യൂപ്പിള്‍സ് പാര്‍ട്ടിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നിരുന്നു. ഇവരെ തിരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരാനുള്ള കോൺഗ്രസ് നീക്കമാണ് ഫലം കണ്ടത്.

ബുധനാഴ്ചയാണ് സുപ്രീം കോടതി ചരിത്രപരമായ വിധിയിലൂടെ അരുണാചല്‍ പ്രദേശിലെ നബാം തുക്കി സര്‍ക്കാരിനെ പുനരവരോധിച്ചത്. അന്നുതന്നെ ഡൽഹിയിലെ അരുണാചല്‍ ഹൗസില്‍വെച്ച് നബാം തുക്കി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായി സത്യപ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്തു. കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷം ഡിസംബറില്‍ ഭരണകക്ഷിയായ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസില്‍ ഉടലെടുത്ത രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രതിസന്ധി മുതലെടുത്ത് കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നബാം തുക്കി സര്‍ക്കാരിനെ പുറത്താക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
