FIRE IN MUMBAI BUILDING

A massive fire has broken out in a building on the Colaba
Causeway, a busy commercial street in south Mumbai. No casualties or injuries
have been reported yet. "We have rescued two people from the
fire," senior police officer Manoj Sharma was quoted by news agency ANI as
saying. Massive billows of dark smoke can be seen above the multi-storeyed Metro Building, which houses the famous Cafe Mondegar and a McDonald's outlet. It is very close to Regal Cinema, a Mumbai landmark. The fire reportedly broke out in the higher floors of the building and spread upwards. 12 fire engines are at the spot trying to douse the flames. Four fire engines from the naval dockyard have also been sent in.The Colaba Causeway has been closed to the public. The area has both shops and homes.
മുംബൈയിലെ തിരക്കേറിയ കൊളാബാ പാതയ്‌ക്ക് സമീപത്തുള്ള ബഹുനിലക്കെട്ടിടത്തില്‍ തീപിടുത്തം. നാലുനിലകളുള്ള കെട്ടിടത്തിന്റെ മുകളിലത്തെ നിലയിലാണ്‌ തീപിടുത്തം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നത്‌. പോലീസിന്റെയും ഫയര്‍ഫോഴ്‌സിന്റെയും നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ സ്‌ഥലത്ത്‌ രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം പുരോഗമിക്കുകയാണ്‌.
വൈകിട്ട്‌ നാലുമണിയോടെയാണ്‌ കെട്ടിടത്തില്‍ നിന്നും പുക ഉയര്‍ന്നു തുടങ്ങിയത്‌. ഇതോടെ ഫയര്‍ഫോഴ്‌സിന്റെ എട്ട്‌ യൂണിറ്റുകള്‍ സ്‌ഥലത്തെത്തി തീയണയ്‌ക്കാന്‍ നടത്തിയ ശ്രമം പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും ഫലം കാണാതിരുന്നതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന്‌ പതിനഞ്ചോളം ഫയര്‍ഫോഴ്‌സ് യൂണിറ്റെത്തി രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം തുടരുകയാണ്‌. കെട്ടിടത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ കുടുങ്ങിയ രണ്ടുപേരെ താഴെയെത്തിച്ചു. അധികമാരും കെട്ടിടത്തിന്റെ നാലാം നിലയില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ലെന്നാണ്‌ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്‌. വഴിയോര കച്ചവടക്കാരുള്‍പ്പെടെ നിരവധിപ്പേര്‍ തിങ്ങിനിറഞ്ഞ സ്‌ഥലമാണ്‌ ഇത്‌. തീപിടുത്തത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന്‌ ആളുകളെ പരിസരത്തു നിന്നും ഒഴിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്‌.
