TRIBUTE PAID TO RAJAMANI,NOTED MALAYALAM MUSIC DIRECTOR

Noted music director Rajamani, who has composed background score for hundreds of Malayalam films, passed away at a hospital here on Sunday night. He was 60... Though he was rushed to the hospital after he complained of uneasiness, the doctors at the private hospital declared him dead around 9.00 pm on Sunday. Son of musician B.A. Chidambaranath Rajamani had also composed songs for over 70 Malayalam movies and was very active in the industry. Rajamani, who started learning music at a very young age, made his Malayalam debut with the 1985 film Nullinovikkathe, starring Balan K. Nair and Madhuri.

Rajamani was the most sought after composer by filmmakers to set the background score of their movies. He has done background music for over 700 films in 10 different languages, a majority of them in Malayalam.... Rajamani is known for his background score for movies like Narasimham, Aaraam Thampuran, Ravanaprabh Ravanaprabhu, Keerthi Chakra, Chinthamani Kolacase and Nandanam among many others. He had won the Kerala State Film Award for best background score for the Mohanlal-starrer Aaraam Thampuran (199... Rajamani, who is also known as a conductor, has worked with 78 other music directors. He was the  conductor for the songs in the latest Malayalam film Action Hero Biju, of which the songs were  composed by veteran musician Jerry Amaldev.Rajamani was very close to late music director Johnson and his family. The death of Johnson's daughter Shan Johnson recently was a huge shock to Rajamani, sources said.... Rajamani's son Achu Rajamani is also a singer-music director, who is busy in the Telugu film industry...

പ്രമുഖ സംഗീത സംവിധായകൻ രാജാമണി (60) അന്തരിച്ചു. ശ്വാസതടസത്തെ തുടർന്ന് ചെന്നൈയിൽ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ വച്ചായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം സംഭവിച്ചത്‌.1984-ൽ മോഹൻരൂപ്‌ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത്‌ പൂവച്ചൽഖാദർ എഴുതിയ ‘നുള്ളി നോവിക്കാതെ’ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഗാനങ്ങളിലൂടെയാണ്‌ മലയാള സംഗീത സംവിധായകന്റെ മേലങ്കിയണിയുന്നത്‌. രാജാമണി സംഗീതം നൽകിയ മലയാള ചലചിത്ര ഗാനങ്ങൾ എണ്ണത്തിൽ കുറവെങ്കിലും എല്ലാം ഓർമയിൽ തങ്ങിനിൽക്കുന്നവ തന്നെ. മലയാളം, തമിഴ്‌, കന്നട, തെലുങ്ക്‌, തുളു, ഉറുദു, ഒറിയ തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി ഭാഷകളിലെ 700 ഓളം ചിത്രങ്ങൾക്കു രാജാമണി പശ്ചാത്തല സംഗീതമൊരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്‌.
