...The Cabinet on Monday appointed PK Mohanty as the new Chief Secretary
of Kerala. Mohanty will succeed Jiji Thomson who is retiring on
February 28. PK Mohanty, who is an additional Chief Secretary, is now serving
as the Director of Institute of Management in Government (IMG).
Mohanty, a 1980 batch IAS officer, will be in office for two months
only. He has served the government as sales tax commissioner, Director of
public relations department (PRD) and as Managing Director of civil supplies
corporation. He began his official career in the administrative service
as a sub–collector in Thiruvalla. The government had plans to
extend the tenure of Jiji Thomson by three months as the assembly
elections are approaching. However, the government changed the plan in the
cabinet meeting. Jiji Thomson will continue as the Chairman of State
Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). Jiji Thomson , who is a 1980 batch
IAS officer, took charge as the Chief Secretary of Kerala on January

നിയമസഭാ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് ജിജി തോംസണിന്റെ കാലാവധി മൂന്നുമാസത്തേക്കുകൂടി ദീര്‍ഘിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ആലോചനയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.എന്നാല്‍ മന്ത്രിസഭായോഗത്തില്
ആ തീരുമാനം മാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു.സംസ്ഥാന വ്യവസായ വികസന കോര്‍പ്പറേഷന്‍ (കെ.എസ്.ഐ.ഡി.സി) ചെയര്‍മാനായി ജിജി തോംസണ്‍ തുടരും. കഴിഞ്ഞ ജനവരിയിലാണ് ജിജി തോംസണ്‍ ചീഫ് സെക്രട്ടറിയായത്.1980 ബാച്ചില്‍പ്പെട്ട കേരള കേഡര്‍ ഐ.എ.എസ് ഓഫീസറായ ജിജി തോംസണ്‍.
