TRIBUTE PAID TO JAGMOHAN DALMIYA, VETERN CRICKET BOSS

Jagmohan Dalmiya,the president of BoardofControlforCricketinIndia(BCCI),passed away at a city hospital on Sunday evening following a massive cardiac arrest. He was75. Dalmiya is survived by his wife Chadralekha, daughter Vaishali and son AbhishekDalmiya was admitted to hospital three days back after he complained of chest pain. He was admitted to B M Birla Hospital on Thursday night after which he also underwent a coronary angiography."Jagmohan Dalmiya suffered a massive gastrointestinal tract hemorrhage. Despite all the efforts of doctors, he succumbed to the bleeding at around 8.45pm," said Dr Anil Mishra of BM Birla Hospital. 

"He was responding to treatment but became unstable in the morning. Our medical board decided to conduct an angioplasty late afternoon. He was stabilised but after that there was a massive gastrointestinal hemorrhage which led to a lot of bleeding. He succumbed to the bleeding at 8.45pm," Dr Mishra said in his official medical bulletin.He confirmed two stents were planted in his heart.Dalmiya's death plunged the cricket fraternity into a grief as reactions poured in from former cricketers and administrators condoling his demise.President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in mourning Dalmiya..ഇന്ത്യൻ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് കൺട്രോൾ ബോർഡ് (ബിസിസിഐ) പ്രസിഡന്റ് ജഗ്‌മോഹൻ ഡാൽമിയ (75) അന്തരിച്ചു. കൊൽക്കത്തയിലെ ബി.എം. ബിർല ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ഹൃദയാഘാതം മൂലമായിരുന്നു മരണം. ഭാര്യ ചന്ദ്രലേഖ. രണ്ടു മക്കൾ.

പ്രമുഖ വ്യവസായി കൂടിയായ ഡാൽമിയയെ നെഞ്ചുവേദനയെത്തുടർന്ന് വ്യാഴാഴ്ച വൈകിട്ടാണ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഹൃദയ ധമനിയിൽ രക്തം കട്ടകെട്ടിയതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് ആൻജിയോപ്ലാസ്റ്റി നടത്തിയെങ്കിലും ആരോഗ്യനില വഷളാകുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി മരണം സംഭവിച്ചു. 1940 മേയ് 30ന് കൊൽക്കത്തിയിലാണു ജഗ്‌മോഹൻ ഡാൽമിയ ജനിച്ചത്. ബംഗാൾ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് അസോസിയേഷൻ, ഇന്റർനാഷനൽ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് കൗൺസിൽ എന്നിവയുടെ പ്രസിഡന്റായിരുന്നു. 1979ൽ ബിസിസിഐയിൽ അംഗമായി, 1983ൽ ട്രഷറർ, 2001 മുതൽ മൂന്നു വട്ടം പ്രസിഡന്റ്. 1997 മുതൽ മൂന്നു വർഷം ഐസിസി പ്രസിഡന്റായിരുന്നു.
