A sub inspector of the police has been suspended following intervention of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav after pictures of the cop damaging the typewriter of an elderly typist went viral on the social media.Krishna Kumar (65) had been sitting on the pavement outside the General Post Office (GPO) working as the typist for the last 35 years, a senior officer said.On pretext of “security movement”, Incharge of the Secretariat Police outpost Sub Inspector Pradeep Kumar asked Kumar to vacate the place yesterday and even crushed the latter’s typewriter under his boots.The pleas of the elderly man went unheard and the SI continued with the act till the typewriter was completely smashed.As the pictures of the incident went viral on the social media, the CM asked senior officers to suspend the errant cop and provide a new typewriter to the victim.On his directive, SSP Rajesh Pandey suspended the SI and ordered an inquiry to be headed by the Circle Officer, Alambagh.District Magistrate Rajshekhar and SSP Pandey later visited Kumar’s house and handed over a typewriter to him.The CM has asked the senior officers to train policemen in improving their behaviour while dealing with the public, the officer said.ആ തൊഴുകൈകളിലെ ദൈന്യതപോലും പൊലീസുകാരന്റെ മനസ്സിനെ ചലിപ്പിച്ചില്ല. പകരം, കൃഷ്ണകുമാറിന്റെ ടൈപ്പ്റൈറ്റർ അയാൾ ചവിട്ടിത്തെറിപ്പിച്ചു. നേരം ഇരുട്ടി വെളുക്കുംമുമ്പേ തൊഴുകൈകളോടെ കലക്ടറും എസ്പിയുമെത്തി, ക്ഷമചോദിച്ച്. ഒരു ‘വൈറൽ’ നല്ല കഥകൂടി.ലക്നൗ ജനറൽ പോസ്റ്റ് ഓഫിസിനു മുന്നിലാണ് കൃഷ്ണകുമാർ (65) തെരുവോരത്തിരുന്ന് തന്റെ പഴയ ടൈപ്പ്റൈറ്റർ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു ജീവിതമാർഗം തേടിയിരുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ, സബ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ പ്രദീപ് കുമാറിന് അതു പിടിച്ചില്ല. ഏകവരുമാനമാർഗമായ ടൈപ്പ്റൈറ്റർ നിർദാക്ഷിണ്യം ചവിട്ടിത്തെറിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇതിന്റെ ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ വൈറലായതോടെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി അഖിലേഷ് യാദവ് ഇടപെട്ടു; ഇൻസ്പെക്ടറെ സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്തു.

തകർന്നുപോയ ടൈപ്പ്റൈറ്റർ നന്നാക്കിയെടുക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന കൃഷ്ണകുമാർ.പ്രായമുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യനോട് ഇത്ര മോശമായി പെരുമാറിയതിൽ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി കോപാകുലനായി. കലക്ടറോടും എസ്പിയോടും ആളെ കണ്ടുപിടിച്ച് ഉടൻ സഹായം നൽകണമെന്നു നിർദേശിച്ചു. രാത്രിയോടെതന്നെ കലക്ടർ രാജശേഖറും എസ്പി രാജേഷ് പാണ്ഡെയും ചേർന്ന് ഇംഗ്ലിഷ്, ഹിന്ദി ഭാഷകളിൽ ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യാവുന്ന രണ്ടു ടൈപ്പ്റൈറ്ററുകൾ കൃഷ്ണകുമാറിന്റെ വീട്ടിലെത്തിച്ചു. അവർ ക്ഷമചോദിച്ചു. ഇനി ഒരു പ്രശ്നവുമുണ്ടാകില്ലെന്ന ഉറപ്പും നൽകി. ‘‘കഴിഞ്ഞ 35 വർഷമായി ഞാൻ ഇവിടെയിരുന്നു ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നു. അയാൾ എന്നെ അസഭ്യം പറഞ്ഞു, ടൈപ്പ്റൈറ്റർ ചവിട്ടിത്തകർത്തു.’’ – കൃഷ്ണകുമാർ വേദനയോടെ പറഞ്ഞു.എന്തിനാണ് ടൈപ്പ്റൈറ്റർ തകർത്തത്? ‘സുരക്ഷാ കാരണങ്ങളാൽ’ എന്നു പൊലീസ്. എന്നാൽ, പടി കൊടുക്കാത്തതുകൊണ്ടെന്നതു വാസ്തവം. ഇത്ര മോശമായി പെരുമാറിയ പൊലീസുകാരനു ശിക്ഷ സസ്പെൻഷൻ മാത്രമോ? സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങളിൽ ആ ചോദ്യവും ഇപ്പോൾ വൈറലാകുന്നു.
