TO CONDUCT HEALTH SURVEY IN ATTAPPADI

The Kerala High Court on6th Januar,2015, Tuesday ordered for a survey to find out health issues of people living in Attappadi region. It has to be reviewed how effective has been the various schemes implemented for the welfare of Adivasis in the region, the court observed.The court also ordered that further measures to address the health problems of Adivasis should be taken on the basis of the findings from the survey.

The court also observed that the benefits of the various welfare schemes initiated by the government are not carried to people in the lower strata of the region.The court's ruling came while considering a batch of petitions pointing out the rising instances of diseases, deaths due to hunger and child mortality in the Adivasi hamlets of Attappadi.
