HEAVY RAINS, STRONG WINDS LIKELY IN KERALA TILL FRIDAY
Heavy rains accompanied by high-speed winds are likely to lash the state till Friday, the weathermen have warned. Accordingly, there could be flooding at several places while chances are high for landslides at hilly terrains. The sea may become rough and there could be up to 13 cm rain at certain places, they added. 

On Monday,7th May, heavy rains were reported at various places across the state.The officials concerned have been asked to stay prepared to
 meet any emergency situation, said headscientist ofState Emergency Operations Centre(SEOC)SekharL.Kuriakose. 
The Forest and Tourism departments have been told to stop tourists from getting near rivers and streams. Given the chance of flash floods, public have also been told to refrain from bathing in rivers.On Wednesday and Thursday, heavy rains are likely to lash districts between Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad. The northern districts would receive heavy rains on Thursday and Friday. K.Santhosh, Directorof Meteorological Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, said the rains are likely to relent by May 10.Since wind speed may reach up to 55 km/hr, fishermen have been warned to be cautious while venturing into sea.
