PATHANAPURAM ST STEPHEN'S COLLEGE GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION

പത്തനാപുരം സെന്റ് സ്റ്റീഫന്സ് കോളേജ് സുവര്ണ് ജൂബിലി ആഘോഷം

The Golden Jubillee Celebrations of the St.Stephen’s College marked its beginning with the procession conducted from Mount Tabor Monastery ground. The flag was handed over to the college principal Dr.Susy Kurien by H.G. Dr.Joseph Mar Dionysious Metropolitan, REv.Fr.N.J.Thomas Ramban and Rev.Fr.C.O.Joseph Ramban. The procession ended in the college.As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations an exhibition Stephanian Golden Jubilee Expo will be conducted. In the exhibition conducted at the college from 27th to 29th, arts, culture, education, environment aspects are included. Pavilions of various institutions and firms will be there for the exhibition. Scholars from various genres of the society will take part and will be beneficial for them. Mushroom cultivation, scientific equipments, modern banking, aids control society, WWF, paintings of famous artists, cookery show, flower show etc will be organized.

Dr.T.P.Sreenivasan, Ex- US ambassador and Kerala State Higher Education Council Vice president will inaugurate the function on 27th at 10.30am at the college auditorium. College manager Rev.Fr.C.O.Joseph Ramban will preside over the meeting.
Principal Dr.Susy Kurien, Rev.Fr.K.V.Paul, Dr.Rajan Idiculla, K.Varghese, REv.Fr.Jacob Roy, DR.Joseph Mathai, Prof Kuriakose Joseph, and Prof.Ajith Kumar said in the press meet that all the arrangements for the exhibition has been completed.The inauguration of the golden jubilee celebrations will be carried out on 30th at 10am by H.H.Baselious Marhoma Paulose II Metropolitan. Minister Kodikunnil Suresh will be the chief guest.

കാട്ടുപത്തനാപുരം  എന്നറിപെട്ട ഒരു  സ്ഥലം  ഇന്ന്  പട്ടണമാക്കി മാറ്റിയതിൽ  മുഖ്യ പങ്ക് പത്തനാപുരം  സെന്റ് സ്റ്റീഫന്സ്  കോളേജ്  നാണ് .സുവര്ണ് ജൂബിലി നിറവില്‍ പത്തനാപുരം സെന്റ് സ്റ്റീഫന്സ്് കോളേജ്. പതിനായിരങ്ങള്ക്ക്  അക്ഷരവെളിച്ചം പകര്ന്നല മാലൂര്‍ കോളേജിന്റെ 50-ാം പിറന്നാള്‍ ആഘോഷങ്ങള്ക്ക്  മാലൂര്‍ കുന്നില്‍ 2014 ജനുവരി  30 , വ്യാഴാഴ്ച തുടക്കം. കോളേജ് ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തില്‍ രാവിലെ 10 ന് ബസേലിയോസ് മാര്ത്തോ മ പൗലോസ് ദ്വിതീയന്‍ കാതോലിക്ക ബാവാ ഒരുവര്ഷംല നീണ്ടുനില്ക്കു ന്ന ആഘോഷം ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും. കേന്ദ്രസഹമന്ത്രി കൊടിക്കുന്നില്‍ സുരേഷ് മുഖ്യപ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തും. ബസേലിയോസ് മാര്ത്തോുമ ദിദിമോസ് പ്രഥമന്‍ വലിയബാവാ ജൂബിലിസന്ദേശം നല്കുംോ. മൗണ്ട് താബോര്‍ കോര്പ്പലറേറ്റ് മാനേജര്‍ ഫാ. സി.ഒ.ജോസഫ് റമ്പാന്‍ അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിക്കും.

പണ്ട് കാട്ടുപത്തനാപുരം എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ സമഗ്ര വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ പുരോഗതിക്കുവേണ്ടി കാലംചെയ്ത തോമാ മാര്‍ ദീവന്നാസ്യോസ് 1964 ല്‍ കോളേജ് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. പത്തനാപുരം ടൗണില്‍ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ മൗണ്ട് താബോര്‍ ദയറയ്ക്ക് സമീപം താത്കാലിക പുരയിലായിരുന്നു കോളേജിന്റെ തുടക്കം. പിന്നീട് 7 കിലോ മീറ്റര്‍ അകലെയുള്ള മാലൂരിലേക്ക് കോളേജ് മാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ കോളേജ് ഓഡിറ്റോറിയം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് ഷെഡുകള്‍ നിര്മ്മി ച്ചായിരുന്നു തുടക്കം. പ്രകൃതി രമണീയമായ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട സ്ഥലത്ത് കോളേജ് പടിപടിയായി വികസിക്കുമ്പോഴും ഇവിടെയെത്താന്‍ നല്ല വഴിപോലും അക്കാലത്ത് ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. കല്ലടയാറും നിരവധി തോടുകളും താണ്ടി കാൽ നടയായി കോളേജില്‍ പഠിക്കാന്‍ എത്തിയവരില്‍ ഏറെയും സാധാരണക്കാരുടെ മക്കളായിരുന്നു. സമീപത്ത് ഒരു കോളേജ് ഉണ്ടായതുകൊണ്ടുമാത്രം പഠിക്കാനും ജീവിതവിജയം നേടാനും കഴിഞ്ഞവര്‍ ഏറെയായിരുന്നു. മുന്‍ മന്ത്രി ടി.എം.ജേക്കബ് ഉള്പ്പെളടെ നിരവധി പ്രമുഖര്‍ കോളേജിലെ ആദ്യകാല വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥി കളായിരുന്നു.
