കവി എം.എന് പാലൂരിന് കേന്ദ്ര സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരം
Famous Poet Paloor Madhavan Namboothiri, better known as M N Paloor, has bagged the Kendra Sahitya Akademi award for his autobiography Kadhayillathavante Kadha.He is regarded as one of the early modernist poets in Malayalam. Paloor was honoured with Kerala Sahitya Akademi award in 1983 for his collection kalikalam.
Born as the son of Palooru Manakkal Madhavan Namboothiri and Sreedevi Antharjanam on 22 June 1932 in Paravoor, Paloor learned Sanskrit under K P Narayana Pisharody. Later, he mastered Kathakali under Ravunni Menon and Vazhenkada Kunju Nair. Paloor had served the Indian Airlines in Mumbai and resigned as Senior operator of Ground Supporting Division in 1990. In 2009, he was awarded with Asan Smaraka Award. His first Collection of poems was Pedithondan (1962). His other major works includeTheerthayatra, Bhangiyum Abhangiyum, Sangama Sangeetham, Pachamanga, Sarga Dhara,and Kalikalam.
