MEXICAN ARRESTED FOR MURDER HIS FORMER LIVE-IN PARTNER
A Mexican citizen was arrested for allegedly murdering his former live-in partner over custody of their daughter, officials said. Police had last week earlier registered a case of missing woman for Cecile Denise Acosta, but two days back, recovered her partially burnt body stuffed inside a suitcase near Madurai.Their suspicion homed on to Martin Manrique, a post-doctoral student at a private deemed university in Virudhunagar district near Madurai. Manrique allegedly murdered Acosta, burnt and dismembered her body and packed it in a suitcase before dumping it near Madurai, a police official said.

According to police, Acosta was staying in Kerala and a student of Kalamandalam, a deemed university there. She had come to Tamil Nadu to meet Manrique. She was later reported by Manrique to have boarded a bus to Kerala a week before. This was apparently done by him to mislead police after he had murdered Acosta in a fit of rage over custody of their daughter, the official said.
