KOCHI METRO- 22 STATIONS

The director board meeting of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd has decided to fix the number of stations for Kochi metro to 22. Earlier, it was decided there would be 23 stations. But later after a detailed study it was fixed at 22. The meet has also decided to acquire land for the project soon. Chief minister said in the meeting that land must be acquired without giving way for any kind of complaints. CM also directed that district collector must ensure reasonable value for land takeover.

The meet also decided that DMRC will be intimated about the decision to give charge to them. Minister Aryadan Muhammed said the central budget has allotted Rs 49 crore for Kochi Metro in the budget and that is a good move. Though there was a direction to record the construction activities, CM said the decision would be taken after preparing the detailed plan. The meet, which was presided by Chief minister Oommen Chany, was attended by director board members and ministers Aryadan Muhammed, KM Mani, PK Kunhalikutty, VK Ibrahim Kunju, mayor Tony Chammini and district collector Sheik Pareed .
