                 MAJOR FIRE ATRUBCO KOTTAYAM PLANT

A major fire occurred at the Kottayam plant of Rubco and two employees were injured badly when trying to extinguish the fire.(13^th December,2011) As per primary level analysis, a loss of Rs 7 crore was reported. The fire was seen in raw materials used for production. The wiring was completely gutted and machines destroyed. Though locals and employees tried to extinguish the fire using the factory equipment, they were not able to go inside due to the thick smoke. Later, fire force units from Pambadi, Kottayam, Kanjirapilly and Changanassery extinguished the fire. It is said that short circuit was the reason behind the fire.
