SWADESHABHIMANI-KESARI AWARD FOR K. SASIKUMAR
Noted media person and founder chairman of Asianet, K Sasikumar has been chosen for Swadeshabhimani-Kesari award instituted by the Kerala government. The award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh and plaque. Sasikumar is also the founder chairman of Asian College of Journalism. The award, instituted in memory of legends in Malayalam journalism Kesari Balakrishna Pillai and Swadeshabhimani Ramakrishna Pillai, is to recognise outstanding contributions in political, cultural, developmental and journalistic fields. Minister KC Joseph announced the award here on Thursday. Minister said chief minister Oommen Chandy would present the award in a function to be held on December 19 at secretariat Durbar hall.
