IS CALICUT UNIVERSITY VICE CHANCELLOR
Governor RS Gavai has issued notification appointing Dr A Abdul Salam as Calicut University vice chancellor. A three-member committee selected Dr Abdul Salam from a list of 3. Dr Salam, who is head of Agronomy Department of Agricultural University, has more than 30 years teaching experience. Salam, who hails from Kollam, got his BSc degree in agriculture from Kerala University and MSc agronomy from Kerala Agricultural University. He bagged Ph D from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in 1984. He has been working as lecturer in Kerala Agricultural University from 1979. He acted as visiting professor in Kuwait from 2003 to 07.Earlier, the committee appointed to select VC has forwarded three names in the panel including that of Dr Salam. The other two are Dr Jameela Begum from Institute of English, Kerala varsity and Dr Pasha. The committee consisted of chief secretary P Prabhakaran, who is the representative of the Governor, UGC representative Iqbal Hasnain and senate representative Ashiq. Dr Salam's name is on top of the list.

Prof Abdul Salam is the worst Vice Chancellor that ever got to the University of Calicut.
He is an agronomist knowing nothing about a "University" . He proved that he is good for nothing through his activities after he took over charge as the Vice Chancellor in August 2011.
He appointed all youngest and junior most faculty members as " DIRECTORS"! to implement his MAD ideas and to facilitate his "MONEY MAKING" nature.
He destroyed the natural beauty of the University of Calicut and destroyed the environment using Grass cutting machines and Excavators !
he destroyed the academic atmosphere of the University by his " NEW and impractical " ideas !He destroyed the future of the students through his actions in the conduct of courses and conduct of examinations. there is a hike of fees of students about 10 times !
He made the teachers and employees of the university totally inactive by his HITLORISM .
