KALLADA CHURCH FETE-2011 (MAR ANTHRAOS BAVA)

                                      Kallada St. Mary's Orthodox Church Perunnal-2011

    319 th Shardha perunnal of Mar Anthraos Bava and the traditional convention in this connection held at the west Kallada St.Mary's Orthodox Syrian Church began on 20th February,2011.
   the festival flag-hoisting ceremony will be held at 10.30 am on Sunday. The  holy noonninmel Kurbana ritual will be held at 8.30 am on March 2nd and 3 rd. the raaza' from the tomb of Mar Anthraos Bava to Kadapuzha will begin at 6.30 pm on March 3rd.
    As per the chronicles of the church, Mar Anthraos Bava arrived in Kochi in 1678 and traveled to  west Kallada to establish his center of spiritual activity at the St. Marys church. He died in 1692 and his relics were entombed in the Madhaba of the church. the church had been declared the first pilgrim center of the southern zone of the orthodox Syrian church
