The first software development block inaugurated on the new campus of IT major Infoys Technologies in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday 17th February 2011. Located in the Techno park special economic zone, the new campus is spread over 50 acres and will be developed over a period of five years in a phased manner. Built at a cost of Rs 180 crore, the first soft ware Development Block has the capacity to accommodate 1600 employees.It is equipped with a food court, recreational facilities for employees, chiller building, diesel generation block, water storage and treatment facility, sewage treatment plant and well laid out roads.
A 1,800 seater soft ware Development Block is under construction on the campus. Infosy's started its operation in thiruvananthapuram in January 2004. 1500 IT professionals are employed on the leased premises of the company in the Bhavani and Thejaswini buildings at Techno park.
the two Infosy's Campuses in the city exported business worth Rs 427.79 crore and contributed 18 percent to Keral's export in the financial year 2009-2010.
