To thrive in this changing landscape, young people need more than technical skills alone. They need a balanced set of competencies that combines technical, digital, AI, green, social-emotional and civic skills with the human qualities that technology cannot replace.Under the theme "Skills for a shared future",  this year's World Youth Skills Day activities will spotlight the urgent need for innovative youth skills programmes—initiatives that empower young people not only to adapt, but to lead with empathy, bridge cultural divides, build resilience, and actively shape a more sustainable and inclusive tomorrow.World Youth Skills Day 2026 comes at a time when engineering is changing faster than ever. Artificial intelligence is no longer limited to software. It now drives robots, automated factories and intelligent machines that carry out physical tasks with little human intervention. As India expands its manufacturing sector, employers increasingly look for engineering graduates who can combine strong technical knowledge with skills in AI, robotics and automation. This shift is changing engineering education. Students need practical experience, interdisciplinary learning and regular upskilling to stay prepared for future engineering careers.

ഓരോ വർഷവും ജൂലൈ 15-നാണ് ലോക യുവജന നൈപുണ്യ ദിനം (World Youth Skills Day) ആചരിക്കുന്നത്. യുവാക്കളെ മികച്ച തൊഴിലിനും സംരംഭകത്വത്തിനും വ്യക്തിഗത വളർച്ചയ്ക്കും സജ്ജരാക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭ 2014-ലാണ് ഈ ദിനം ഔദ്യോഗികമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്.പ്രധാന വിവരങ്ങൾ:ലക്ഷ്യം: സാങ്കേതിക, തൊഴിലധിഷ്ഠിത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിലൂടെയും പരിശീലനത്തിലൂടെയും (TVET) യുവാക്കളുടെ ശാക്തീകരണം ഉറപ്പാക്കുക.2026 ലെ പ്രമേയം: "Skills for a Shared Future". ആധുനിക സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ (AI), ഡിജിറ്റൽ സാക്ഷരത, ഹരിത തൊഴിലുകൾ (Green skills) എന്നിവയിൽ യുവാക്കളെ സജ്ജരാക്കുന്നതിനാണ് ഈ വർഷം പ്രാധാന്യം നൽകുന്നത്.ഈ ദിനത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും യുഎൻ പദ്ധതികളെക്കുറിച്ചും കൂടുതൽ അറിയാൻ യുണൈറ്റഡ് നേഷൻസ് പേജ് സന്ദർശിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നൈപുണ്യ വികസനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഏതെങ്കിലും പ്രത്യേക മേഖലകളിലെ കോഴ്സുകളെക്കുറിച്ചോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ തൊഴിൽ പരിശീലന അവസരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചോ അറിയണമെന്നുണ്ടോ? എങ്കിൽ ചോദിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.ലോക യുവജന നൈപുണ്യ ദിനം. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും മികച്ച തൊഴിലവസരങ്ങളും കൃത്യമായ പരിശീലനവും ലഭിക്കാത്ത യുവാക്കളെ കണ്ടെത്തി അവർക്ക് ആവശ്യമായ ശാക്തീകരണം ഉറപ്പാക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭ 2014 മുതൽ ഈ ദിനാചരണത്തിന് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചത്. അത്യാധുനിക സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യകൾ അതിവേഗം വളരുന്ന ഈ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ, പുതിയ തൊഴിൽ വൈദഗ്ധ്യങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തമാക്കേണ്ടത് യുവതലമുറയ്ക്ക് അനിവാര്യമാണ്. ഡിജിറ്റൽ ലോകത്തെ പുതിയ മാറ്റങ്ങളെ ഉൾക്കൊണ്ട് മുന്നേറാൻ യുവാക്കളെ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ഈ ദിനത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന സന്ദേശം.
