WORLD INTER FAITH HARMONY WEEK (ലോക മതസൗഹാർദ്ദ വാരം)

 

World Interfaith Harmony Week is an opportunity to promote solidarity among all people, regardless of religion, faith or beliefs.February 1-7 of each year has been designated World Interfaith Harmony Week by the United Nations. It was launched in February 2011 to promote harmony among people of different faiths at a time when interreligious conflict is claiming lives and livelihoods all over the world.It  aims to promote peace, tolerance, non-violence, and mutual understanding among people of different religions and beliefs. In a world facing conflict and division, the week highlights the importance of dialogue and respect between faith communities.World Interfaith Harmony Week is a UN resolution for a worldwide week of interfaith harmony proposed in 2010 by King Abdullah II and Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad of Jordan. The World Interfaith Harmony Week falls in the first week of February of every year and aims to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith.

On September 23, 2010, King Abdullah II of Jordan proposed a World Interfaith Harmony Week at the Plenary Session of the 65th United Nations General Assembly in New York City.World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW), conceived to promote a culture peace and nonviolence, was first proposed by King Abdullah II of Jordan at the United Nations in 2010. This was quickly adopted by the UN General Assembly (resolution A/RES/65/5), declaring the first week of February each year as World Interfaith Harmony week, calling on governments, institutions and civil society to observe it with various programmes and initiatives that would promote the aim of the WIHW objectives.

At the core of all the faith systems and traditions is the recognition that we are all in this together and that we need to love and support one another to live in harmony and peace in an environmentally sustainable world. Our world continues to be beset by conflict and intolerance with rising number of refugees and the internally displaced in a hostile and unwelcoming world around them. We are also unfortunately witnessing messages of hate spreading discord among people. The need for spiritual guidance has never been greater. It is imperative that we double our efforts to spread the message of good neighborliness based on our common humanity, a message shared by all faith traditions. The theme for the observance of the Interfaith Harmony Week for 2019 was, therefore, “Sustainable Development through Interfaith Harmony”.

2010-ൽ ജോർദാനിലെ അബ്ദുള്ള രണ്ടാമൻ രാജാവും ഗാസി ബിൻ മുഹമ്മദും ചേർന്ന് ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള മതസൗഹാർദ്ദ വാരത്തിനായി ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭ മുന്നോട്ടുവച്ച ഒരു പ്രമേയമാണ് ലോക മതസൗഹാർദ്ദ വാരമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നത് . എല്ലാ വർഷവും ഫെബ്രുവരി ആദ്യ വാരത്തിലാണ് ലോക മതസൗഹാർദ്ദ വാരമായി ആചരിക്കുന്നത് ഇത് വിശ്വാസം പരിഗണിക്കാതെ എല്ലാ ആളുകൾക്കും ഇടയിൽ ഐക്യം വളർത്താൻ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നു.

2010 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 23-ന് ന്യൂയോർക്ക് സിറ്റിയിൽ നടന്ന 65-ാമത് ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ പൊതുസഭയുടെ പ്ലീനറി സെഷനിൽ, ജോർദാനിലെ അബ്ദുള്ള രണ്ടാമൻ രാജാവ് ലോക മതാന്തര ഐക്യവാരം എന്ന ആശയം മുന്നോട്ടുവച്ചു .പറഞ്ഞു:വ്യത്യസ്ത മതവിഭാഗങ്ങളിൽപ്പെട്ട ആളുകൾക്കിടയിൽ തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണയും അവിശ്വാസവും പടർത്തുന്ന വിഭാഗീയ ശക്തികളെ ചെറുക്കേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്. വസ്തുത എന്തെന്നാൽ, എല്ലായിടത്തും മനുഷ്യവർഗം പരസ്പരം ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, പരസ്പര താൽപ്പര്യങ്ങളാൽ മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവത്തെയും അയൽക്കാരനെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുക; നന്മയെയും അയൽക്കാരനെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുക എന്ന പങ്കിട്ട കൽപ്പനകളാലും. ഈ ആഴ്ച, എല്ലാ ഭൂഖണ്ഡങ്ങളിലെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുടെ പിന്തുണയോടെ, എന്റെ പ്രതിനിധി സംഘം, വാർഷിക ലോക മതാന്തര ഐക്യ വാരത്തിനായുള്ള ഒരു കരട് പ്രമേയം അവതരിപ്പിക്കും. ലോകത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക്, അവരുടെ സ്വന്തം ആരാധനാലയങ്ങളിൽ, സഹിഷ്ണുത, അപരനോടുള്ള ബഹുമാനം, സമാധാനം എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സ്വന്തം വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ പഠിപ്പിക്കലുകൾ പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു പ്രത്യേക ആഴ്ചയാണ് ലോക മതസൗഹാർദ്ദ വാരം.

നന്മയോടുള്ള സ്നേഹവും അയൽക്കാരനോടുള്ള സ്നേഹവും അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി, ഓരോന്നിനും അവരവരുടെ മതപാരമ്പര്യങ്ങൾക്കോ ബോധ്യങ്ങൾക്കോ അനുസൃതമായി, ലോകത്തിലെ പള്ളികൾ, , സിനഗോഗുകൾ, ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ, മറ്റ് ആരാധനാലയങ്ങൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ ആ ആഴ്ചയിൽ മതസൗഹാർദ്ദത്തിന്റെ സന്ദേശം പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് സ്വമേധയാ പിന്തുണ നൽകാൻ എല്ലാ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെയും പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.ലോകമെമ്പാടും നിന്നുള്ള സംഘടനകളെ മതസൗഹാർദ്ദം പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പരിപാടികൾ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കാൻ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നു, ജോർദാൻ രാജാവ് സ്പോൺസർ ചെയ്യുന്ന 3 വാർഷിക സമ്മാനങ്ങൾ $25000, $15000, $5000 എന്നിങ്ങനെയാണ് നൽകുന്നത്. സ്വർണ്ണം, വെള്ളി, വെങ്കല മാതൃകകളാണ് സമ്മാനമായി നൽകുന്നത്. അമ്മാനിൽ നടന്ന ചടങ്ങിൽ രാജാവ് നേരിട്ട് സമ്മാനമായി നൽകുന്ന ഈ സമ്മാനം, രാജകുമാരി അരീജ് ഗാസി , ജറുസലേമിലെ പാത്രിയാർക്കീസ് തിയോഫിലസ് എന്നിവർ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട ജൂറിയുടെ തീരുമാനത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് നൽകുന്നത് .
