AWARDS -2018
National Film Awards
winners Sridevi was declared the Best Actress at the 65th National Film Awards.The
announcement of the 65th National Film Awards was held at PIB Conference Room,
Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi. The chairpersons of the three juries (Feature, Non-feature
and Writing) for the 65th National Film Awards
announced the awards for the different categories. This year, the jury
was headed by director Shekhar Kapur. The jury panel has 10 members which
includes screenwriter Imtiaz Hussain, lyricist Mehboob, South Indian actress
Gautami Tadimalla, Kannada director P Sheshadri, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury,
Ranjit Das, Rajesh Mapuskar, Tripurari Sharma and Rumi Jaffrey.After the
announcement, the award ceremony for the 65th National Film Awards will be held
on May 3, 2018.
The National Film Awards will be presented by President Ram
Nath Kovind.
While Riddhi Sen and
Sridevi won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards, respectively, Assamese film
Village Rockstars was declared the Best Film at the 65th National Awards. Late actor Vinod Khanna has been awarded
the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Best Actor (Female) Sridevi
gets the Best Actor (Female) award for the movie MOM. Best
Supporting Actor (Female) Divya Dutta has been awarded the Best Supporting
Actor (Female) award for the movie Irada. Best
Background Score A R Rahman gets the
Best Background Score award for MOM. Special Mention Awards Marathi film - Morkiya, Oriya film - Hella
Aarsi and Malayalam film- Take Off got
the Special Mention Awards. Commenting on Hello Aarsi, Shekhar Kapur said,
"If I try to make that film I will fail." Pankaj Tripathi got a
special mention for his performance in Newton. Best Educational Film The 65th National Film Award for the Best
Educational Film goes to The Girls We Were and The Women We Are. Best Non Feature Film Water Baby has been
adjudged as the Best Non-Feature Film this year. Taapsee Pannu on Ghazi winning
the Best Telugu Film AwardReacting to Ghazi winning the Best Telugu Film award
at the 65th National Film Awards, actor Taapsee Pannu said, "I am elated
with the news about Ghazi winning the Best Telugu film. This is the third time
I have had the opportunity to be a part of a National Award Winning film. Even
though I had a special appearance in the film, it was personally a very
satisfying part for me as an actor. I’m ecstatic with the news about the film
winning the National Award Honour."Newton director Amit V Masurkar on the
big winAfter his film being adjudged as the Best Hindi Film, Newton director
Amit V Masurkar said, "I want to thank the jury for awarding Newton the
National Award for Best (Hindi) Film. I hope this award and the film's
commercial success creates a bigger space for relevant political cinema. This
wouldn't have been possible without an incredible cast, crew and the love and
support from the people of Chhattisgarh where we shot the film."
Pankaj Tripathi on
winning Special Mention at the 65th National Film Awards Pankaj Tripathi, who
played the role of a CRPF Officer in Newton has won a Special Mention Award.
Expressing his happiness on the big win, the actor said, "I am absolutely
delighted. I had no idea I was even in the running. It feels amazing to know
that the whole country thought my role in Newton was one of my best and to win
the Special Mention Award at the highest film award in India is just
exhilarating. My director and co-actors made it so easy for me to act in this
film."Best Male Playback SingerThe award goes to K.J Yesudas for his song
"Poy Maranja Kalam" in the
movie Viswasapoorvam Mansoor. Best Children's Film.The film Mhorkya directed by
Amar Bharat Deokar wins the award for Best Children's Film . Best Direction Filmmaker
Jayaraj gets the award for his Malayalam film Bhayanakam. Best Child ArtistBhanita
Das wins the award for the Assamese film Village Rockstars. Indira Gandhi Award
For Best Debut Film of a DirectorThe award goes to director Pampally for the
movie Sinjar. Best Actor (Male)Riddhi Sen receives the Best Actor (Male) award
for Bengali film Nagarkirtan. Best Popular Film providing wholesome
entertainment The award has been given to SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The
Conclusion.Best Film The
award goes to Assamese film Village Rockstars. Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film
on National Integration Marathi film Dhappa wins the Nargis
Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration Dadasaheb Phalke Award Late actor Vinod Khanna has
been awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Best Actor (Female)Sridevi

Cinematography for the Malayalam film Bhayanakam. Best Adapted Screenplay The Best Adapted Screenplay
has been given to Jayaraj for Malayalam film Bhayanakam. Best Original
ScreenplayThe award for the Best Original Screenplay goes to Sajeev Pazhoor for
Malayalam film Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.
Besi Audiography The
award for the Best Audiography has been given to the Assamese film Village
Rockstars. Best Sound Design and Best Recordist The award goes to Ladakhi film Walking with the Wind.
Best Production DesignThe award for the Best Production Design has been given
to Santhosh Raman for the Malayalam film Take Off. Best Makeup artistThe award
has been given to Ram Rajjak for Bengali film Nagarkirtan. Best Background
Score A R Rahman gets
the Best Background Score award for MOM. Best Music
DirectionMani Ratnam's Kaatru Veliyidai receives the award for Best Music
Direction. Noted music composer A.R. Rahman has composed the music for the
movie. Best Special EffectsPrabhas and Rana Daggubati's magnum opus Baahubali:
The Conclusion has been given the award for Best Special.
Best ChoreographyThe
award for the best choreography goes to Ganesh Acharya for Toilet Ek Prem Katha's
song "Gori Tu Latth Maar".
Best Action Direction Abbas Ali Moghul has been given the award for Best Action
Direction for the movie Baahubali: The Conclusion. Best Gujarati Film DHH is
the Best Gujarati Film. Best Tamil filmThe Best Tamil Film award goes to
To-Let. Best Assamese FilmThe award goes to Ishu. Best Telugu film Ghazi
starring Rana Daggubati gets the Best Telugu film award. Best Bengali Film Best Bengali Film award
goes to Mayurakshi. Shekhar Kapur strongly recommends that Mayurakshi goes to
Cannes Film Festival. Best Hindi Film Amit V Masurkar directorial Newton
