A national rail
safety fund is proposed to be created with a corpus of Rs 1 lakh crore to
leverage technology and carry out infrastructure upgrades apart from
re-training and skill training to railway staff that is expected to enhance
passenger safety.Ending the 92-year-old colonial practice of a separate railway
budget, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Wednesday presented a unified budget in
Lok Sabha.“The present of a unified budget provides an opportunity to the
government to work towards integrated transport solution in India by
synergising road, rail and waterways transportation investments,” said Jaitley.
He announced that
the Centre will provide an annual support of Rs 20,000 crore to railways for
the Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh for next five years. Railway has been
demanding for a dedicated safety funds to carry out necessary upgradation and
infrastructure development to enhance safety of passengers.The finance minister
said that railways will focus on four major areas -- passenger safety, capital
and development work, cleanliness and financial and accounting reforms.For
2017-18, the plan size has been pegged by the Railways at Rs 1,31,000 crore – which
includes gross budgetary support of Rs 55,000 crore.Indian Railways aspires to
feed about 7000 stations with solar power in the next few years and 500 railway
stations will be made disabled friendly with lifts and escalators.Jaitley said
it is now proposed to introduce a coach mitra facility, a single window
interface to register all coach related complaints and requirements.Giving push to
digital economy, he also talked about waiving off service charge from rail
tickets booked online on IRCTC website and mobile application.All Railway PSUs
like IRCTC, IRCON and IRFC will now be listed in all stock exchanges.

ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തുമെന്നും

3,500 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ പുതിയ റെയില്‍പാത
കമ്മീഷന്‍ ചെയ്യും. 2000 സ്റ്റേഷനുകള്
സൗരോര്‍ജം ഉപയോഗിച്ച്
പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിലേക്ക്
മാറ്റും. സോളാര്‍ വൈദ്യുതി
ഉല്‍പാദനം ഏഴായിരം
സ്റ്റേഷനുകളിലേക്ക് വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കും.
2019ഓടെ രാജ്യത്തെ എല്ലാ
കമ്പാര്‍ട്ട്‌മെന്റുകളിലും
ബയോ ടോയ്‌ലറ്റുകള്‍
നിലവില്‍വരും.പ്രത്യേക
വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര സോണുകളും
പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കും. റെയില്‍വേയുമായി
ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പരാതികള്‍ പരിഹരിക്കാന്‍
മിത്ര കോച്ച് പദ്ധതി
തുടങ്ങും. 2020ഓടെ ആളില്ല
ലെവല്‍ ക്രോസുകള്‍ പൂര്‍ണമായും
ഒഴിവാക്കും. 500 സ്റ്റേഷനുകളില്‍ ലിഫ്റ്റ്
സൗകര്യമൊരുക്കും. ഈ സ്റ്റേഷനുകള്
ഭിന്നശേഷി സൗഹൃദമാക്കുകയാണ്
സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ലക്ഷ്യം.
സീറ്റുകള്‍ സംബന്ധിച്ച പരാതികള്‍
പരിഹരിക്കാന്‍ സംവിധാനമില്ലാത്തതുമൂലം
യാത്രക്കാര്‍ക്കുണ്ടാകുന്ന പ്രയാസങ്ങള്‍
പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിന് ഏക ജാലക
സംവിധാനമൊരുക്കുമെന്നും ബജറ്റില്‍
പ്രഖ്യാപനമുണ്ട്.
