TRIBUTE PAID TO MR. V.P RAMAKRISHNA PILLAI, FORMER MINISTER AND RSP LEADER

മുന് മന്ത്രി വി.പി രാമകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള അന്തരിച്ചു

Former minister and RSP former state secretary V P Ramakrishna Pillai died on 8^th November,2016,Tuesday.He was 83.He had served as Irrigation Minister during 1998-2001.He was former secretariat member of RSP. V. P. Krishna Pillai is the son of Parameswaran Pillai. He hails from Kollam] He was active in student movement and joined the Kerala Socialist Party. Later he became a RSP member. V. P. Krishna Pillai held the post as Kollam District Committee secretary of RSP. He has served as member of the National Committee and Kerala State Secretariat of RSP, and edited the party fortnightly Pravaham. Other posts held by him includes director of the Kerala State Co-operative Bank, the Kerala State Warehousing Corporation and the Kerala State Coir Marketing Federation. He has led different trade unions affiliated to the United Trade Union Congress.

He was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in the 1987 election, standing as the RSP candidate in the Eravipuram constituency. He obtained 53,318 votes (49.80%). He lost the seat in 1991, standing as an independent candidate. He finished in second place with 55,350 votes (47.67%). He regained the Eravipuram seat in 1996, standing as a RSP candidate again. He obtained 53,344 votes (46.42%).

He served as Minister of Irrigation and Labour of the Kerala state government between 7 January 1998 and 13 May 2001] He contested the Chavara seat in the 2001 Kerala Legislative Assembly election, but lost to Revolutionary Socialist Party (Bolshevik) candidate Shibu Baby John. V. P. Ramakrishna Pillai finished in second place, with 48,206 votes (42.64%).

ആര്എസ്പി മുന് സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറിയും മുന് മന്ത്രിയുമായ വി.പി രാമകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള (83) അന്തരിച്ചു. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിലായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം.എട്ടും പത്തും നിയമസഭകളില് അംഗമായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം തൊഴില്,ജലവിഭവ വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രിയായിരുന്നു. ആര്എeസ്പി മുന് കേന്ദ്ര സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റ് അംഗവുമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. വാര്ധ ക്യസഹജമായ അസുഖത്തെ തുടര്ന്നാ ണ് അന്ത്യം.

മൃതദേഹം നാളെ രാവിലെ ഒമ്പതിന് പട്ടത്തുള്ള ആര്എസസ്പി സംസ്ഥാന കമ്മിറ്റി ഓഫിസിലും 12 മണി മുതല് കൊല്ലംആര്എ്സ്പി ഓഫിസില് പൊതുദര്ശിനത്തിന് വെക്കും.ആര്എദസ്പിയുടെ സ്ഥാപകാംഗമായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം കേരളാ സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് പാര്ട്ടി യിലൂടെയാണ് രാഷ്ട്രീയ ജീവിതം ആരംഭിച്ചത്. മൂന്ന് പതിറ്റാണ്ടോളം ആര്എദസ്പിയുടെ കൊല്ലം ജില്ലാ സെക്രട്ടറിയായി സേവനമനുഷ്ടിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം ദേശീയ കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗവും പിന്നീട് സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറിയുമായി.

1987 ല് ഇരവിപുരത്തു നിന്നാണ് ആദ്യമായി നിയമസഭയിലെത്തിയത്. 1991 ല് വീണ്ടും മത്സരിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു. പിന്നീട് 1996 ല് മണ്ഡലം തിരിച്ചു പിടിച്ചു. 1998 മുതല് 2001 വരെ ജലവിഭവ, തൊഴില് വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രിയായിരുന്നു.2001 ല് ചവറയില് നിന്ന് വീണ്ടും മത്സരിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും ഷിബു ബേബി ജോണിനോട് പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു. 2008 ലാണ് ആര്എടസ്പി സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറിയാകുന്നത്. ആര്എുസ്പി ലയനത്തെത്തുടര്ന്ന്ം 2012 മാര്ച്ചി ല് സെക്രട്ടറി സ്ഥാനമൊഴിഞ്ഞു.

കേരള സഹകരണ ബാങ്ക് ഡയറക്ടര്, കേരളാ സ്റ്റേറ്റ് വെയര്ഹൗസസിംഗ് കോര്പാറേഷന് ഡയറക്ടര്, കേരളാ സ്റ്റേറ്റ് കയര് മാര്ക്കിറ്റിംഗ് ഫെഡറേഷന് ഡയറക്ടര് എന്നീ സ്ഥാനങ്ങളും വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
