PLASTIC MADE INDIAN NATIONAL FLAGS BANNED

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has been issuing directions time and again for strict compliance of the provisions contained in the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and Flag Code of India, 2002 and not using the National Flag made of plastic.Since plastic flags are not biodegradable like the paper flags, these do not get decomposed for a long time and are harmful to the atmosphere. Further, ensuring the appropriate disposal of National Flags made of plastic with the dignity of the flag is a problem.Therefore, in compliance with the above directions, the Government of Meghalaya has banned the manufacturing of plastic made Indian National Flags with immediate effect.

ദേശീയ പതാക പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്കിൽ നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നതും, വിതരണവും, വിൽപ്പനയും, ഉപയോഗവും, പ്രദർശനവും നടത്തുന്നതും കർശനമായി നിരോധിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്‌ സർക്കാർ ഉത്തരവായി.പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്‌ നിർമ്മിത ദേശീയ പതാകയുടെ ഉപയോഗം പൂർണ്ണമായും ഇല്ലാതാക്കണം, ദേശീയ പതാകയുടെ പ്രാധാന്യവും മഹത്വവും കണക്കിലെടുത്ത്‌ ദേശീയ ഫ്ലാഗ്‌ കോഡിൽ നിഷ്കർഷിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിൽ ദേശീയ പതാക ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിനും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനും എല്ലാ വകുപ്പ്‌ മേധാവികളും ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും അതീവ ശ്രദ്ധ പുലർത്തണമെന്നും ഉത്തരവിൽ നിർദ്ദേശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്‌.
കമ്പിളി, പരുത്തി, ഖാദി, സിൽക്ക്‌ എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിച്ച്‌ കൈകെണ്ടു നെയ്ത പതാകകൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കണമെന്നാണ്‌ ദേശീയ ഫ്ലാഗ്‌ കോഡിൽ നിഷ്കർഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്‌. എന്നാൽ വിശേഷാവസരങ്ങളിൽ പേപ്പറിൽ നിർമ്മിക്കുന്ന ദേശീയ പതാക ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ പൊതുജനങ്ങൾക്ക്‌ അനുമതി നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. ആയത്‌ ആഘോഷശേഷം വലിച്ചെറിയാതെ ദേശീയ പതാകയുടെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തിനും മഹത്ത്വത്തിനും അനുസൃതമായ രീതിയിൽ സ്വകാര്യമായി നിർമ്മാർജ്ജനം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാണെന്നും ഉത്തരവിലുണ്ട്‌.
