സെറിബ്രൽ മലേറിയ പെരുകുന്നു

The deadly disease Celebral Malaria, which affects the brain, has been confirmed in Kozhikode. Five members of a family who stays in Elathur have been diagnosed with the disease. The Health Department has initiated measures to prevent the spread of the disease. Cerebral Malaria is a disease which strikes the brain in  people with less immunity or when effective treatment is not taken for malaria. The disease is the gravest condition arising out of malaria infection.  If the disease is notdiagnosed in time or effective treatment is not takenit may result even in death.

സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് അതീവ ഗുരുതരമായ സെറിബ്രല് മലേറിയ രോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. കോഴിക്കോട് ഏലത്തൂരിലുള്ള ഒരു വീട്ടിലെ അഞ്ച് പേര്ക്കാണ് രോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. രോഗ ബാധയേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നവരില് രണ്ട് പേര് കുട്ടികളാണ്. ഇവരെ കോഴിക്കോട് മെഡിക്കല് കോളേജില് പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. രോഗം പടരുന്നത് തടയാന് ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പ് കര്ശന നടപടികള് സ്വീകരിച്ചു. കോഴിക്കോട് നഗരത്തിലും പരിസരപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും രക്ത പരിശോധന ഊര്ജിതമാക്കാനാണ് ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പിന്റെ തീരുമാനം.

കൊതുകുകളില് നിന്നും മനുഷ്യരിലേക്ക് പകരുന്ന മലേറിയ രോഗത്തിന് ഫലപ്രഥമായ ചികിത്സ ലഭിക്കാതെ വരുമ്പോള് അത് തലച്ചോറിനെ ബാധിക്കുന്ന അവസ്ഥയാണ് സെറിബ്രല് മലേറിയ. മലേറിയ അണുബാധയുടെ ഏറ്റവും ഗുരുതരമായ അവസ്ഥ കൂടിയാണിത്. കൃത്യമായ ചികിത്സ നല്കിയില്ലെങ്കില് മരണം വരെ സംഭവിക്കാവുന്ന രോഗംകൂടിയാണിത്.
