SAHITHYA ACADEMY AWARD

young writer K R Meera has bagged this year’s Kendra Sahithya Academy Award for
her novel Aarachaar. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 100,000, a plaque and
a citation.Meera had earlier bagged the Vayalar Award, Kerala Sahithya Academy
Award and Odakkuzhal award for the same novel.Madhavan will receive the Kendra
Sahithya Academy Award for the best literary work in Tamil language. The award
will be given for his collection of articles titled Ilakkiya Chuvadukal.As soon
as the announcement was made, Meera said she is elated as well as sad. Whether
to accept the award or not will be decided later, she said. Meera, a writer and a journalist was born at Shasthamcotta in Kollam in 1970. She got first rank for master's degree in Communicative English.Her first short story collection was Ormayude Njarambu. Moha Manja, Gillettin,Aa Maratheyum Marannu Marannu Njan, Meerasadhu, Malakyude Marukukal, Mazhayil Parakkunna Pakshikal are some of her main works.She has obtained other awards likeAnkanam Award, Lalithambika Antharjanam Award, Chovvara Parameswaran Award etc.Meera won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2009 for her short-story, Ave Maria. Her husband M S Dileep is a journalist with Malayala Manorama. Her daughter is Shruti Dileep.ഈ വർഷത്തെ കേന്ദ്ര സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരത്തിന് മലയാളി എഴുത്തുകാരി കെ ആർ മീര അർഹയായി. കൊൽക്കത്ത നഗരം പശ്ചാത്തലമാക്കി രചിച്ച ആരാച്ചാർ എന്ന നോവലിനാണ് പുരസ്കാരം. ഒരു ആരാച്ചാർ കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ കഥ പറയുന്ന നോവലിൽ ഭരണകൂട ഭീകരത വരച്ചകാണിച്ചുകാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മികച്ച തമിഴ് കൃതിക്കുള്ള പുരസ്കാരത്തിന് തിരുവനന്തപുരം സ്വദേശി എ മാധവനും പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ചു. ‘ഇലക്കിയ ചുവടുകൾ’ എന്ന തമിഴ് ലേഖന സമാഹാരമാണ് മാധവനെ പുരസ്കാരത്തിനർഹനാക്കിയത്.
ആരാച്ചാർ എന്ന കൃതിക്ക് 2013ൽ ഓടക്കുഴൽ പുരസ്കാരം, കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരം, 2014ൽ വയലാർ അവാർഡ് എന്നിവ ഈ കൃതിക്ക് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കൊൽക്കത്തയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ ഒരു പെൺ ആരാച്ചാരുടെ കഥ പറയുന്ന നോവലാണ് ആരാച്ചാർ. ഹാംഗ് വുമൺ എന്ന പേരിൽ ആരാച്ചാർ നോവൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. സൗത്ത് ഏഷ്യൻ സാഹിത്യകാരന്മാരുടെ രചനകൾക്ക് നൽകുന്ന ഡി എസ് സി പുരസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ അന്തിമ പട്ടികയിൽ ഹാംഗ് വുമൺ ഇടംപിടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മീരയുടെ ‘ആവേ മരിയ’ എന്ന കഥാസമാഹാരവും 2009 ലെ കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയിരുന്നു.
ഓർമ്മയുടെ ഞരമ്പ് ആണ് ആദ്യ ചെറുകഥാസമാഹാരം. മോഹമഞ്ഞ്, ഗില്ലറ്റിൻ (ചെറുകഥാ സമാഹാരങ്ങൾ), യൂദാസിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം, നേത്രോന്മീലനം, ആ മരത്തെയും മറന്നു മറന്നു ഞാൻ, മീരാസാധു (നോവലുകൾ), മാലാഖയുടെ മറുകുകൾ (നോവലൈറ്റ്), മഴയിൽ പറക്കുന്ന പക്ഷികൾ (ലേഖനം/ഓർമ്മ) എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന കൃതികൾ. ദേശീയ പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയ ഒരേ കടൽ എന്ന ചലചിത്രത്തിന്റെ സഹ തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തായിരുന്നു മീര.
