Two KSRTC staff, who allegedly misbehaved with Social worker
Daya Bai has been placed under suspension.The employees Shylan and Yousuf
attached to the Wadakkancherry depot.The action has been taken on the basis of
KSRTC MD’s directive.The incident leading to their suspension occurred
around 7.30 pm on Sunday. Daya Bai, who arrived in Thrissur to receive
Father Vadakkan memorial award, had gone to Pavaratty school to take classes
for student police cadets. After the class, two policemen helped her to board a
KSRTC bus to Aluva. The bus employees started to behave badly when she
asked the driver whether the bus was nearing Aluva bus stand. She repeated
the question to the conductor. However, the conductor asked her to alight from
bus at the stop preceding the bus stand. He also used abusive language at her.
At this juncture, the passengers intervened and asked the
conductor to allow Daya Bai to alight at the Aluva bus stand. Instead
of obliging, the employees stopped the bus and forced Daya Bai to alight
from the bus. When Daya Bai asked the employees whether her simple attire
was the cause of their bad behaviour, the employees indecently replied to her.After
the incident snowballed into a controversy, minister Thiruvanchoor

ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടവര്ക്ക് പരാതി നല്കുമെന്ന് അവര് പറഞ്ഞു. മോശമായി പരുമാറിയ ജീവനക്കാരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെടില്ല,
എന്നാല് യാത്രക്കാരോട് മാന്യമായി പെരുമാറാന് അവര് തയ്യാറാകണമെന്ന്
അധികാരികളോട് അഭ്യര്ഥിക്കുമെന്ന്
ദയാബായി പറഞ്ഞു.

ദയാബായി പാരറട്ടിയിലെ സ്കൂളില് സ്റ്റുഡന്റ്സ് പോലീസ് കേഡറ്റുകള്ക്ക് ക്ലാസെടുക്കാന്
പോയിരുന്നു. തുടര്ന്ന് രണ്ട് പോലീസുകാര് ചേര്ന്നാണ് അവരെ ബസ്സില് കയറ്റി ആലുവയിലേക്ക് യാത്രയാക്കിയത്. ആലുവ ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്ഡ് എത്താറായോ ? എന്ന് ഡ്രൈവറോട് ചോദിച്ചതോടെയാണ് മോശമായ പെരുമാറ്റം ആദ്യമുണ്ടായത്. കണ്ടക്ടര് അടുത്തെത്തിയപ്പോള് അദ്ദേഹത്തോടും
സ്ഥലം ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാല്, ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്ഡിന് മുമ്പുള്ള സ്റ്റോപ്പില് ഇറങ്ങണമെന്ന് ഭീഷണി സ്വരത്തില് നിര്ദ്ദേശിക്കുകയും മോശം പദപ്രയോഗം നടത്തുകയുമാണ് കണ്ടക്ടര് ചെയ്തത്.
ദയാബായിയെ ആലുവ ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്ഡില് ഇറക്കണമെന്ന് യാത്രക്കാര്
ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടുവെങ്കിലും ജീവനക്കാര് ചെവിക്കൊണ്ടില്ല. തുടര്ന്ന്, ബസ് നിര്ത്തി അവരെ ഇറക്കിവിട്ടു. തന്റെ ലളിത വസ്ത്രധാരണം കണ്ടാണോ ഇങ്ങനെ പെരുമാറുന്നതെന്ന് ദബാബായി ചോദിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും വളരെ മോശമായ മറുപടിയാണ് ലഭിച്ചത്. മധ്യപ്രദേശിലെ ആദിവാസികള്ക്കിടയില് 50 വര്ഷത്തിലേറെയായി
പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന മലയാളി സാമൂഹ്യ പ്രവര്ത്തകയാണ് ദയാബായിയെന്ന മേഴ്സി മാത്യു. നിരവധി പുരസ്കാരങ്ങള് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
