KASARAGOD BANK ROBBERY- GOLD WORTH RS 7 CR LOOTED

കാസര്‍ക്കോട് വീണ്ടും ബാങ്ക് കൊള്ള: നാല് കോടി നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു

In a major bank robbery in Cheruvathoor in Kasaragod, gold worth Rs 7.35 lakh and Rs 2.95 lakh in cash were stolen from one of the branches of Vijaya Bank on Monday.The money is said to have been stolen by breaking open the bank locker.The bank was closed for the past three days for holidays. The robbery was detected when the employees came to the bank on Monday.The bank functioned at a rented space on the third floor of a building near the bus station. The miscreants dug into the strong room of the bank from a room that was rented out purportedly for opening a shop.

The tenants introduced themselves as natives of Manjeswaram in Kasaragod and occupied a room below the bank. This is the second major bank robbery reported from Kasaragod in one month. On September 7, Rs 13 lakh and 21 kg of gold were looted from Kudlu co-operative bank in the district.The modus operandi of the robbery in Vijaya Bank is said to be similar to the one committed in South Malabar Gramin Bank branch in Chelambra on December 30, 2007.In Chelambra, the bank was functioning on the top floor of a hotel and the robbers had rented a room in the same hotel. Gold worth Rs 7 crore and Rs 24 lakh was robbed. The room that was rented out a month before remained shut in the pretext of repair works and the burglary was committed after digging out a hole in the wall

.ഒരുമാസത്തിനിടെ കാസര്‍ക്കോട് വീണ്ടും വന്‍ ബാങ്ക് കൊള്ള. ചെറുവത്തൂരിലെ വിജയാ ബാങ്കിന്റെ ശാഖയില്‍ നിന്നും നാല് കോടി രൂപ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു.രാത്രിയാണ് മോഷണം നടന്നതെന്ന് കരുതുന്നു. രണ്ട് ദിവസമായി ബാങ്ക് അവധിയായിരുന്നതിനാല്‍ തിങ്കളാഴ്ച രാവിലെയാണ് കൊള്ള നടന്നകാര്യം പുറം ലോകമറിഞ്ഞത്.കോഴിക്കോട് ചേലേമ്പ്രയിലെ ബാങ്ക് കവര്‍ച്ചയെ അനുകരിച്ച് രണ്ടാം നിലയിലുള്ള ബാങ്കിന്റെ കോണ്‍ക്രീറ്റ് തറ തുരന്നാണ് താഴെ നിലയില്‍ നിന്നും മോഷ്ടാക്കള്‍ ബാങ്കിനുള്ളില്‍ കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.താഴെയുള്ള മുറി മഞ്ചേശ്വരത്തുനിന്നുള്ള ഒരാള്‍ കട തുടങ്ങാന്‍ എന്നപേരില്‍ വാടകയ്ക്ക് എടുത്തിരുന്നു. ചേലേമ്പ്രയിലും സമാന രീതിയില്‍ ഹോട്ടല്‍തുടങ്ങാനെന്ന വ്യാജേനെയായിരുന്നു ബാങ്കിനു താഴെയുള്ള മുറി വാടകയ്ക്ക് എടുത്തത്.മൂന്നാഴ്ച മുമ്പാണ് കാസര്‍ക്കോട്ടെ കുഡ്‌ലു സഹകരണബാങ്ക് കവര്‍ന്ന് 17 കിലോസ്വര്‍ണവും 13 ലക്ഷം രൂപയും കവര്‍ന്നത്. ഇതിലെ പ്രതികളെ അറസ്റ്റുചെയ്‌തെന്ന ആശ്വാസത്തിലിരിക്കെയാണ് പുതിയ കവര്‍ച്ച.
