TEARFUL FAREWELL TO BUS ACCIDENT VICTIMS

TEARFUL FAREWELL TO BUS ACCIDENT VICTIMS
Kothamangalam, a sleepy little town in the eastern suburbs of Ernakulam district, on Saturday mourned the five children who lost their lives in a tragic accident while returning from school on Friday. People from all walks of life bid a tearful farewell to the schoolchildren. Five children were killed and seven injured after a tree that was uprooted by strong winds crashed down on their school bus at Nellimattom on Friday evening. Parents of the deceased children chose not to place their bodies at the school for the public to pay their last respects. However, that did not stop friends, relatives, and teachers of Vidya Vikas School, Karukadom, from visiting their homes.
The bodies of four children, except Gauri, 10, of Punnaykkal House, Nellimattom, were laid to rest on Saturday. Her body has been kept at a mortuary for the arrival of her grandparents from the U.K. early Saturday. The body will be cremated on the household premises on Sunday.Johan Jeggy, 13, of Mathenmodel House in Kuthukuzhi, was laid to rest at St. George Church, Maramangalam. Krishnendu, 5, of Alangamolel House, Injoor, was cremated in her house compound. Amin Jabir, 8, of Karottukuzhi House, Pidavoor, was laid to rest at the Kabaristan of Pulikkunneppady Juma Masjid. Eza Sarah Eldo, 11, of Chottayath House, Kozhippilly, was laid to rest at St. John’s Jacobite Syrian Church, Kavalangad. Catholicos Baselios Thomas I led the prayers at her last rites.
