RUN KERALA RUN-SECOND PHASE OF REGISTRATION BEGINS


Run Kerala RunSecond phase registrations have started for Run Kerala Run in which an entire land is gearing up to participate.National Games volunteers will reach the schools which have already registered to review their arrangements.Kottayam Collector Ajit Kumar has instructed all schools and educational institutions in the district to determine the running points before Wednesday in coordination with local self-governing bodies.Meanwhile, K.M. Mani, who has the responsibility of Run Kerala Run in the district, has called an elaborate meeting on Friday to review the preparations in the district. The meeting at the Collectorate will be attended by MLAs, senior representative of the people, panchayat presidents, club office-bearers, organisations’ representatives and district-level Heads of all Departments.
The marathon will have maximum participation in the district in Kottayam town. A meeting called by Municipal Chairman K.R. G. Warrier to discuss the pre-planning in the town was held at the Town Hall at 11 pm on Tuesday. Representatives of schools, colleges, clubs, Kudumbasree, Traders and Merchants Coordination Committee and other organisations participated.Elaborate arrangements are being completed in Vaikom, Kaduthuruthy, Eratupeta, Pala, Kanjirappally and Pampady.
This 250-member team of the differently-enabled will be in the forefront of Run Kerala Run. Velloor St. John of God Special School has started preparations for participating in the Run which will proclaim Kerala’s sporting might.They will be part of the Run Kerala Run from their school up to Malam junction. This school and training centre of the differently-enabled has 235 students.School Director Brother Augustine Polaprayil said that five Special Football team members and participants of Special Olympics will lead the marathon.Special B Ed, D Ed college students and a team of teaching and non-teaching staff of the school will participate in Run Kerala Run.
