KSRTC STAFFS PROTEST-
DELAY SALARY DISBURSAL
In Alappuzha, staff attached to all depots except Chengannur availed leave. Of the 101 existing services, only one was operated on Saturday. The staff at Chengannur depot abstained from resorting to mass protest considering the Sabarimala rush. The services from Chenagnnur to Sabarimala are being operated as usual. Various services from Alappuzha, Cherthala, Haripad, Kayamkulam, Edathua and Mavelikkara depots were affected. The strike has put the candidates appearing for the Kerala Public Service Commission's written examination for the selection of last-grade servants in trouble. In Kozhikode district, the protest affected 75 percent of the services. Buses operating to Wayanad zone have been completely stayed off the roads.
The KSRTC staff in Kottayam district has also joined the protest.A section of workers had staged a fast at Kozhikode on Friday protesting the delay in disbursal of salary.
