THREE STUDENTS MURDER
THEIR COLLEGE PRINCIPAL NEAR TUTICORIN
Three
students of a private engineering college in Tuticorin district on Thursday ,10th
October,2013,murdered their principal allegedly for suspending one of them.L.R.D.
Suresh (53), the principal of Infant Jesus College of Engineering at Keela
Vallanad in Tuticorin district, was stabbed with an aruval (sickle) around 8.20
a.m. as he entered the campus in his car. Mr. Suresh was immediately rushed to
the Tirunelveli Government Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries around 9.40
a.m.Reliable sources said the prime accused P. Pitchaikannan (21), a final year
Aeronautical Engineering student from Velarikkaioorani, Nazareth, was provoked
to murder the principal, who had suspended him for his unruly behaviour.
While
Pitchaikannan stabbed the principal in the stomach, his roommates — G. Danish
(21) of Sivaganga, a final year B.Tech (Information Technology) student and M.
Prabaharan (21) of Keelvelur taluk, Kuthur post, Nagapattinam, a third year
student of Civil Engineering — caused grievous bleeding injury on Mr. Suresh's
neck.According to police sources, Pitchaikannan, was placed on a five day
suspension from Monday following an alleged attack on Athithan, a final year
student of Automobile Engineering over occupying a seat in bus on October 5,
2013.Pichaikannan, who had developed enmity with Mr. Athithan, had attacked the
latter both at the college premises and outside the campus, recently.Moreover,
Pitchaikannan was said to be irregular in attending classes.
Tahsildar Kamatchidasan, police personnel and other revenue officials reached
the spot and inquired about the incident. Murappanad police has arrested the
three accused and booked a case against them under Sections 294 (b) and 302 of
IPC. The weapons used for the murder have been seized.The slain principal was a
resident of Rahmath Nagar in Tirunelveli.Student counsellor, John Samuel, who
was present at the college entrance, said the slain principal was a
disciplinarian. The college would remain closed until October 16, 2013 he said.

വെട്ടിക്കൊലപ്പെടുത്തി. സംഭവവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് മൂന്നു വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളെ പോലീസ് അറസ്റ്റുചെയ്തു. കോളേജിലെ പുതിയ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളെ റാഗ്
ചെയ്ത സീനിയര്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളെ ഡോ. സുരേഷ് സസ്‌പെന്‍ഡ് ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. ഇതിനെ ചൊല്ലി
സ്‌കൂള്‍ അധികൃതരും വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളും ഏതാനും ദിവസങ്ങളായി തര്‍ക്കത്തിലായിരുന്നു.
സസ്‌പെന്‍ഡു ചെയ്തവരെ തിരിച്ചെടുക്കണം എന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഡോ. സുരേഷിനെ
ഒരു സംഘം വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ ഘരാവോ ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
രാവിലെ കോളേജിലെത്തിയ പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പലിനെ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ വെട്ടുകയായിരുന്നു. ഗുരുതരമായി വെട്ടേറ്റ പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പാളിനെ തിരുനെല്‍വേലി ജില്ലാ ആസ്പത്രിയിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയെങ്കിലും രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. ഹോസ്റ്റലില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളാണ് അറസ്റ്റിലായതെന്ന് പോലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു. എന്നാല്‍ അറസ്റ്റിലായവരുടെ പേരുവിവരങ്ങള്‍ പോലീസ് പുറത്തുവിട്ടിട്ടില്ല.
