SCIENCE CONGRESS TO BE

 HELD IN KALPETTA

 The Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) has joined hands with the Calicut University in preparing for the upcoming Kerala Science Congress to be held in Wayanad in January.A meeting, attended by KSCSTE executive vice-president V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Abdul Salam, Science Congress convener Prof. George Varghese and the principals of colleges under the university, discussed the organisation and strategies for the event.A press release said here that the 26th edition of the Kerala Science Congress will be held in Kalpetta, Wayanad, from January 28-31, 2014. The Wayanad-based Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is hosting the three-day event.

“Calicut University has pledged its full support to KSCSTE for organising the programme. We hope to make the Kerala Science Congress one of the biggest events of the year in north Kerala,” said Prof Rajasekharan Pillai, who is in Kozhikode to coordinate preparations for the event.Calicut University Pro Vice-Chancellor Raveendranath and former Registrar M.V. Joseph were present at the meeting which reviewed the various committees constituted for the science congress.The theme of the upcoming Science Congress is “Traditional Knowledge”. Special sessions, talks and paper presentations will be held on the subject. All science articles presented at the KSC in Malayalam language will be published in print form.Details on awards and paper submission can be had from www.ksc.kerala.gov.in
