y  Mori named Abu Dhabi as the fourth most popular city in the world.The World Happiness Report, conducted by Columbia University’s Earth Institute, found that “the world has become a slightly happier and more generous place over the past five years”.Named the 14th happiest country in the world, the UAE ranked higher than the United States (17), the United Kingdom (22), Germany (26), Japan (43), Russia (68) and China (93).The study, which looks at nations’ happiness by studying peoples’ mood and overall life satisfaction, found six factors affect wellbeing, including: per capita GDP, life expectancy, having someone to count on, freedom to make life choices, generosity and freedom from corruption.A report from state news agency WAM quoted HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE, as saying: “Our goal is to achieve the happiness of our people, and their satisfaction is the gauge of our success.“All development plans that we approved, all initiatives that we launched and all the government policies and laws, have one common goal – achieving the happiness of our people.“Countries can only be built with happy and satisfied people. Happiness of individuals is only the start for a stable, productive and safe society.”Denmark was named the happiest country in the world with Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden making up the top five.Rwanda, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Benin and Togo were the least happiest countries.Egypt had the biggest fall in happiness levels, dropping from a rating of 5.4 in 2007 (out of 10) to 4.3 in 2012.

യു.എ.ഇ.ക്ക് നേട്ടങ്ങളുടെ മറ്റൊരു പൊന്‍കിരീടം കൂടി. ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ കണക്കില്‍ അറബ് ലോകത്തെ ഏറ്റവും സന്തോഷംനിറഞ്ഞ രാജ്യം യു.എ.ഇ.യാണ്. ഈ ഗണത്തില്‍ ലോകത്തെ പതിന്നാലാമത്തെ രാഷ്ട്രവും യു.എ.ഇ. തന്നെ.കൂട്ടായ പരിശ്രമത്തിന്റെയും മികച്ച സംഘാടനത്തിന്റെയും പ്രതിഫലനമാണ് രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പുതിയ നേട്ടമെന്ന് ദുബായ് ഭരണാധികാരിയും യു.എ.ഇ. വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്‍റും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുമായ ശൈഖ് മുഹമ്മദ് ബിന്‍ റാഷിദ് ആല്‍ മഖ്തൂം പറഞ്ഞു. യു.എ.ഇ. അറബ് ലോകത്തെ ഏറ്റവും സന്തോഷംനിറഞ്ഞ രാജ്യമായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട സന്ദര്‍ഭത്തില്‍ പ്രതികരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. രാഷ്ട്രശില്പികള്‍ വിഭാവനംചെയ്ത കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുതന്നെയാണ് ഭരണതലത്തില്‍ രാജ്യം പിന്തുടരുന്നത്. ജനങ്ങളുടെ സന്തോഷവും സംതൃപ്തിയും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്താനാണ് ഭരണാധികാരി ശൈഖ് ഖലീഫ എപ്പോഴും ശ്രമിച്ചുപോരുന്നത്. ഫെഡറല്‍, പ്രാദേശിക ഗവണ്‍മെന്‍റ് തലങ്ങളിലുള്ള ഭരണനിര്‍വഹണ മികവും രാജ്യത്തെ ഉത്തരവാദപ്പെട്ട ഓരോ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനും വ്യക്തികളും കാഴ്ചവെക്കുന്ന ആത്മാര്‍ഥ പരിശ്രമങ്ങളുമാണ് ഈ നേട്ടത്തിന് പിന്നിലെന്നും ശൈഖ് മുഹമ്മദ് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.
