ATTACK IN JHARKHAND
A group of suspected Naxals
attacked and killed Pakur Superintendent of Police Amarjit Balihar and seven
other policeman on Tuesday2nd July,2013. The rebels ambushed Balihar's
cavalcade after triggering a landmine and then fired indiscriminately at the
police force. Balihar was returning to Pakur from Dumka after attending a
meeting called by the area DIG. Balihar was accompanied by 20 armed policemen
when the force was attacked.
Police said the Maoists fired on the convoy of Pakur Superintendent of Police Amarjit Balihar when he was returningfrom a meeting held at Dumka. It is, however, not clear as of now whether Balihar is among the injured, they added.
