MAOIST ATTACK IN JHARKHAND

MAOIST ATTACK IN JHARKHAND

A group of suspected Naxals attacked and killed Pakur Superintendent of Police Amarjit Balihar and seven other policeman on Tuesday2nd July,2013. The rebels ambushed Balihar's cavalcade after triggering a landmine and then fired indiscriminately at the police force. Balihar was returning to Pakur from Dumka after attending a meeting called by the area DIG. Balihar was accompanied by 20 armed policemen when the force was attacked.

Police said the Maoists fired on the convoy of Pakur Superintendent of Police Amarjit Balihar when he was returning
from a meeting held at Dumka. It is, however, not clear as of now whether Balihar is among the injured, they added.
