AUTO DRIVER
HANDS OVER
RS 2 LAKH
LOST MONEY
Vijaya Kumar was in dire
need of money after he received a confiscation notice from bank to attach his
house. But despite that, when he got a bundle containing Rs 2 lakh from his
auto that was forgotten by a passenger, he never hesitated to return it to the
owner. The owner in turn rewarded him with Rs 50,000 for his honesty and thus
began a new friendship.Vijayan, 40, of Vattappara became a model by handing
over Rs 2 lakh that was forgotten by Dr Subbah Reddiyar from Patoor. On 23rd
July,2013, Tuesday 10 pm, the doctor took an auto to Sreemoolam club and asked
Vijayan to wait for 20 minutes. After 45 minutes, the doctor came back and
Vijayan dropped him in his home and collected Rs 250 as charge.
When Vijayan reached home
he found a cover containing vegetables and four bundles of Rs 500. For a moment
he was in utter confusion as he needed money urgently to remit it in the back.
But after discussing with wife and his siblings, he decided to give back the
money. On Wednesday, Vijayan reached the doctor's house and handed over the
money. The doctor who had registered a complaint with police went to the
station with Vijayan and informed the developments. At the station itself, the
doctor handed over Rs 50,000 from the same bundle as a token of gratitude. Vijayan
said he will remit the money in bank and seek more time.
