OOMMEN CHANDY SEES NO RESON TO RESIGN

OOMMEN CHANDY SEES
 NO RESON TO RESIGN

Why should I step down from my post in the name of a telephone call? asked chief minister Oommen Chandy at a press meet on Tuesday18th June,2013. Has the present govt done any favour to the solar company? If so, then a resignation demanded looks fit. If the personal staffs had made calls, what is the need for the CM to resign? We were unable to identify Sarita and Bju as fraudsters. Any visitor who visits me cannot be asked to produce a clean certificate. The fraud committed by the staff would be enquired in detail. It is wrong to associate my office with the fraud even before an accusation is proved. This should not occur, Chandy said.

Chandy said there was no slips with regard to the case and the opposition too has not brought out this. Let the opposition tell if there was any failures in legal procedures. During the previous LDF govt, not even a case was registered. It was the present govt which registered a case. The people of Kerala are aware how both the govts handled the cases, Chandy added. Chandy said that when Biju visited him, he was not a murder accused. He had come only to discussed his family matters. I met Biju for the first time in Kochi and would not reveal the meeting details as it concerned personal issues. Though Biju had revealed that he met Chandy to discuss the issues of K B Ganesh Kumar, I would not discuss in the public domain the personal issues put before me.

Chandy said that he had not done any kind of favour to the solar company. There was no company in the Emerging Kerala meet and no project of this company was included in the Emerging Kerala too. Application for this should be given to the KSID. I had enquired with them and there was no application received, according to KSID. Allegation of meeting Sarita S Nair too is false. There were also allegations that the solar panel installed at Cliff House was by the fraud company. It was Anert which installed the solar panels, Chandy pointed out.To a question if there will be any regulations in his office in the wake of the personal staff misusing telephone calls, Chandy said he does not intend to bring any regulation. He does not intent to be isolated from the people.
