TAMIL NADU SSLC EXAMINATION-2013

Shaik MohideenTamil Nadu has achieved a pass percentage of 89 per cent in the SSLC Class X examination in which over 11 lakh candidates appeared. This is a significant jump from last year's 86.2 per cent.However, there are as many as nine official toppers, all girls, who have scored 498/500. There are 52 second rank holders and 130 third rank holders with Tamil as their language.The highest score in the State (499/500), and has been secured by two students from Puducherry and Ponneri. Both have Sanskrit as the second language.
As compared to 1,141 in 2012, 29,905 students have scored a centum in Mathematics this year. Similarly, as many as 38,154 students have scored a centum in Science, and 19,680 in Social Science.Girls once again raced past the boys with a pass percentage of 92 per cent, as compared to 86 per cent secured by the boys.
