NAAC TEAM IN FATHIMA MATA NATIONAL COLLEGE KOLLAM
As part of its second re-accreditation process of the University Grants Commission, a team from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) will inspect Fatima Mata National College from January 10 to 12,2013. The college had earned four-star status of NAAC in 2002 and the B++ level in 2007.All aspects at the college, including basic infrastructure, academic, and extra-academic activities, developments in the field of research, extension work, social service, and library facilities will come under the NAAC scanner.
College Principal Soosamma Kavumpurath said there were 2,276 students on its nominal rolls, 106 teachers, and 40 non-teaching staff. Six teachers have post doctoral degrees and 54 have Ph.Ds. Apart from 11 graduate courses, the college has 10 post graduate courses, 18 add on, 12 vocational self-financing courses and six research departments.The institution also regularly conducts computer skill enhancement programmes, weekly value education sessions, civil services, NET, PSC, and banking coaching programmes. National and international level seminars are also being organised regularly, Dr. Kavumpurath said.
