CHRISTMAS IN BETHLEHEM


                                  Christmas Celebrations in Bethlehem

December 24, 2012 (WAFA) – Palestinian Christians who follow the Gregorian calendar Monday began Christmas’ celebrations with thousands of them arriving in the holy city of Bethlehem.Since the first hours of the morning, Palestinians and foreigners from all over the West Bank arrived to Bethlehem to celebrate Christmas Eve in the birthplace of Jesus Christ.Hundreds of Police members were stationed at the main roads of the city to organize the visitors and maintain security.Red Crescent director Abdul-Halim Jaafari told WAFA that a team of 15 paramedics, seven ambulances and a mobile clinic with 100 volunteers will be on standby to help if any emergency arises.  Sources said that President Mahmoud Abbas will attend the Midnight Mass at the Nativity Church along with a Jordanian official who will be attending on behalf of King Abdullah II.
