SENDS VEGITABLES TO DELHI
A load of 1.5 tonnes of vegetables and spices, procured by Kerala State Horticulture Development Corporation (Horticorp) directly from farmers in southern districts, left here for New Delhi ahead of the festival season. The Railways would be providing regular space for Horticorp in parcel vans bound for Delhi, Bangalore and other cities under the banner of `Kairali Queen,' .Horticorp would load four tonnes of coconut tomorrow, followed by other local produce on a weekly basis to major cities, it said. The Railways aims to increase its revenue through parcel loading and at the same time providing farmers in the state a better marketing opportunity, the release said
