P.Govinda Pillai, fondly called as PG, was a
lively figure in the social, political, scientific, literary and intellectual
fields of Kerala. Stalwarts in Indian politics and colleagues remembers the
scholar with great affection. "PG understood the beauty of Marxist
philosophy beyond class conflicts,"said Sitaram Yechuri, a senior member
of CPM Polit Bureau. PG's intellectual level was higher than any
other personalities in the field, he added.S Ramachandran Pillai, member of PB,
claimed that PG created an atmosphere where the communist parties could
nurture, through ideological battles, in kerala. "He approached all the
social and political issues on the basis of Marxism. All the left
parties in India as well as in Kerala will always remember his
influence," S Ramachandran Pillai said. Opposition leader, V S
Achutanandan, mentioned PG as a protector of progressive movements. Talking to
media after paying his last respect to the veteran leader,V S said the demise
was a lose to all progressive movements.

അനുശോചന സന്ദേശത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. തന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളിലോ ചിന്തകളിലോ പാളിച്ച
സംഭവിച്ചാല്‍ അത് തിരിച്ചറിയാനും മാര്‍ക്‌സിസ്റ്റ് ചിന്തയും മൂല്യങ്ങളും
മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കാനും അദ്ദേഹം തയ്യാറായതാംു സെക്രട്ടേറിയറ്റ് പത്രക്കുറിപ്പില്‍
പറഞ്ഞു.മാര്‍ക്‌സിസ്റ്റ് സൈദ്ധാന്തികരില്‍ പ്രമുഖ സ്ഥാനമായിരുന്നു
പി.ജി.ക്കുള്ളതെന്ന് സി.പി.എം. സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറി പിണറായി വിജയന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ജീവിതം
മുഴുവന്‍ ഒരു സമരഭടനെപോലെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ച വ്യക്തിയാണ് അദ്ദേഹമെന്നും പിണറായി
അനുസ്മരിച്ചു.
അടിയുറച്ച കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും പല വിഷയങ്ങളിലും പാര്‍ട്ടിഭേദം നോക്കാതെ അദ്ദേഹം പ്രതികരിച്ചുവെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര പ്രതിരോധമന്ത്രി ഏ.കെ. ആന്റണി പറഞ്ഞു.പ്രത്യയശാസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അതീതമായ വിജ്ഞാനശേഖരമായിരുന്ന പി.ജി. സ്വന്തമായ അഭിപ്രായങ്ങള്‍ തുറന്നടിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഉമ്മന്‍ചാണ്ടി പറഞ്ഞു. മികച്ച പാര്‍ലമെന്റേറിയന്‍ കൂടിയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം അനുസ്മരിച്ചു.കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിന് ഒരു സൈനികനെയും കരുത്തനായ ഒരു പോരാളിയേയുമാണ് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതെന്ന് സി.പി.ഐ. സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറി പന്ന്യന്‍ രവീന്ദ്രന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.പി.ജി. എന്നും മലയാളികളുടെ മനസ്സില്‍ കുടികൊള്ളുമെന്ന് ഭാരതീയ വിചാരകേന്ദ്ര ഡയറക്ടര്‍ പി.പരമേശ്വരന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
