The State Cultural commitee will recommend making Malayalam mandatory for getting
government jobs in the state. For courses like engineering, medicine, IT
for which admissions are through entrance exams, questions should be made
available in Malayalam too and there should be an option to write answers in
Malayalam too. The recommendation by the committee led by PT Thomas MP is under
the consideration of the government.
The language of the government and court must be made Malayalam. Malayalam must be given preference in all sectors at the academic level. The seminar and the releases by government agencies must be in Malayalam.
Other recommendations include projects to provide scholarship to foreigners to study Malayalam. Foreigners contributing to the upliftment of Malayalam will be felicitated with an award in the name of Herman Gundert.
