OFFICIALS ISSUE NOTICES
TO 217 HOTELS
The state health department has resumed raids
on hotels to ensure hygiene following reports of food poisoning and seizure of
contaminated food from various outlets.The department has issued notices to 217
outlets for violating rules and functioning without necessary licenses and
registration.Six officials of the health department in Kollam including
District Medical Officer, Homeo had complained of food poisoning after
consuming biryani from a hotel. One of them had to be admitted to a private
hospital in Kundara. In another incident a techno park employee who brought a
cake from a Bakery Tvm found millipede. The bakery said they had sourced t6he
cake from a manufacturing centre in Pangapara.
