VETERINARY
DOCTORS
TENDER
MASS RESIGNATION
He said the government in its 2011-12 budget proposals had announced that the committee's report on upgrading veterinary hospitals, clinics and also increasing salaries and allowances of veterinary doctors would be implemented. The government had not taken any action in the last one year to honour its promise, President of the Association Dr Srinivasa Reddy said. The Association had submitted a memorandum to the government on August 27 stating that they would launch a non-cooperation movement if no action was initiated by September 10.
Yalagod also said veterinary doctors have already boycotted the live stock census which commenced on September 15. The committee had also recommended that veterinary doctors be extended salary and allowances on par with those serving in the Health and Family Welfare Department.
